About the Organization

SIIC, IIT Kanpur, is one of India's oldest technology business incubators, established in 2000 to promote entrepreneurship and innovation. Initially launched in collaboration with SIDBI, the center has supported over 200 startups across various sectors and has played a pivotal role in nurturing a robust startup ecosystem. In 2018, its operations were streamlined under the Foundation for Research & Innovation in Science & Technology (FIRST), a Section 8 company established by IIT Kanpur.

About the Program

Advanced Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) & Advanced Management Development Programme (MDP) are in-depth, immersive and exclusive training programmes supported by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME).

Aim

The programme aims to improve decision-making skills, which will result in improved efficiency and profitability for existing and potential entrepreneurs in addition to establishing new businesses. The participants will be trained in the sector-specific business components needed to build successful enterprises from the ideation stage.

Vision

The vision of this programme is to develop technical and vocational skills and upgrade existing skills of the target group, support the establishment of new MSMEs, and enhance the growth of existing ones, which will result in improved productivity and job creation.
