Water For People India Trust was established in 2008 in alignment with the global vision and mission to provide improved access to water and sanitation in rural areas and urban. The organisation aims to provide universal access to safe drinking water, sanitation, and improved hygiene practices, sustained by local institutions, government, and private sector.
Water for People India Trust is operational in the state of West Bengal, Maharashtra, Assam and Odisha, and reached 2.6 million people through community drinking water, WASH in public institutions, and market-led approaches to sanitation. Over the past decade, Water For People India Trust has emerged as a niche organization with focused water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs that cater to the most vulnerable and marginalized communities, inclusive of public institutions such as Anganwadi centers, schools, and health centres. Water For People India Trust is a direct implementation agency supported by civil societies, local NGO partners, and entrepreneurs.
About the Proposal
Water For People India Trust is looking for a reputable agency/consultant to conduct extensive research and process documentation work. This task entails meticulously analysing successfully implemented projects, as well as performing data analysis incorporating both primary and secondary data from project locations. The purpose of this engagement is to facilitate incisive insights, effective documentation, and competent dissemination of research findings. The scope of research will be focused on the existing program geographical areas. The research will be on Water Resources Development and Management integrating with Climate Change impacts.
Water For People India Trust has implemented a water source strengthening project in Chikhaldara block of Amravati District in Maharashtra. The project aimed to prepare and equip rural communities with knowledge, skills, and means to face the challenges of water scarcity. Efforts and investments have gone into creating infrastructure focusing on water management. The project has been executed across 30 villages divided in three clusters. The primary goal of the project was to increase the capacities of rural communities to address water related issues which are sustainable in the target region.
Task: Process documentation/lesson learnt study – using the data and reports of the successfully implemented projects, perform the data analysis, and develop the comprehensive documents to extract the learnings, challenges, and mitigation plans from the implemented project. Using the analysed and reviewing reports, develop the knowledge products to enhance the knowledge of the organization, develop new ideas to document a great concept note to share it with external agencies such as donors, and government departments.

Audience:
Internal program team: The research will help in learning the program’s achievement, challenges and its mitigation plan, learning new ideas to develop the concept notes, new challenges to build the capacity of team by developing the knowledge products.
External audience: The process documentation report can be used for new project development, donor interaction or can be repurposed for the social media content (articles, blogs, success stories, case studies, etc).
Scope of work
The selected agency will be in responsible for conducting process documentation studies of Water For People India Trust’s successfully implemented projects, research on water resource management and climate change impacts integrating WRM in Chikhaldara, Dist. Amravati, Maharashtra. The studies and research will look at the process undertaken as part of the project and its impact in the implementation region. Based on the findings, the agency will also be required to create high quality reports, concept notes and knowledge products that can be used for internal learning, external communication, and collaboration.
The agency will be responsible for the following activities:
- Examine and comprehend project documentation, objectives, and indicators.
- Create a comprehensive framework for process documentation, including data collection methodologies, tools, and sample selection.
- Conduct data collection field visits to project areas for both quantitative and qualitative research findings.
- Analyse data gathered to evaluate project outcomes, effectiveness, sustainability, and community empowerment.
- Through stakeholder interviews and focus group discussions, identify success stories, lessons learned, challenges, and best practices.
- Create reports that are clear and concise for each project, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and actionable insights.
- To effectively communicate the project's work to various stakeholders, create visually appealing knowledge products such as case studies, infographics, notes, and presentations.
- Ensure that all collected and shared information respects the privacy and dignity of the communities involved.
Deliverable:
The deliverables should be with the best content and best design for dissemination (soft copy).

Eligibility
- The agency must have at least 8+ years of experience in Water Resource Management, Agriculture and Livelihood. And have good understanding of WRM, Climate change, JJM, SBM etc.
- Must have experience in conducting research in around WRM and integrating climate change impacts.
- Must have demonstrated experience/expertise in data analysis, statistical analysis, triangulation, and qualitative analysis in the development sector.
- Good experience of developing the concept notes using the findings from research for publication, blog documentation, and success stories.
- Excellent report/ documentation skill in English.
- Ability to collaborate and achieve actionable results while meeting deadlines.
