About the Organization
Dusty Foot Foundation (DFF): Dusty Foot Foundation (DFF) is a not-for-profit organization, registered under section 8 of Indian Companies Act, 2013. DFF works to leverage the power of youth in conservation action and social change through the use of digital technology and education; scaling up through inter-disciplinary and inter-sectoral collaborations and effective networks of government, civil society and community partnerships. The aim is to help youth connect with their roots – preserve their natural resources, traditional knowledge and sustainable practices, and integrate digital communication to build skills, generate aspirational livelihoods, strengthen enterprise and local economy for an ecologically secure and sustainable future.
Mahashakti Seva Kendra (MSK) is a non-profit organization, with a strong strength of 2000 community members, mostly women. MSK began working with the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy survivors at a government supported workshed in the Union Carbide factory vicinity. With the experience of the last 30 years working with women and marginalized communities, MSK is working to increase and strengthen its focus on rural, tribal youth, especially those from farming and forest communities.
The aim is to help young people from these communities of the Central Indian region to better access their rights, and participate in the delivery of governance mechanisms; reconnect with their traditional knowledge, and practices of sustainable farming; and align with civil society organizations and government agencies working with community institutions, to help better engage, apply, and reflect the impact of policies and governance mechanisms designed to alleviate farmer distress.
About the Fellowship
Green Hub Fellowship is a video fellowship that offers a unique opportunity for rural tribal youth residing in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Gujarat and West Bengal (Uttar Dinajpur and below).This 10-month residential fellowship is designed to engage and empower young individuals in the fields of environmental conservation, sustainable farming, livelihoods and social change, through the medium of video and storytelling.
This initiative aims to foster a sense of environmental responsibility while providing practical skills and knowledge towards sustainable living. Participants will be immersed in a transformative experience, where they will learn to harness the power of storytelling and video production to drive positive change in their communities.
Green Hub Central India Fellowship is a 10-month residential fellowship for youth across Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Gujarat and West Bengal (Uttar Dinajpur and below) that engages and empowers them to connect with environment conservation, sustainable farming, livelihoods and social change, using video and storytelling as a medium. This fellowship is for youth from tribal communities, economically weaker backgrounds and rural areas.
Green Hub Fellowship began in the northeast of India in 2015 and Central India in 2021, and has a network of almost 200 fellows across the two regions.
Eligibility
- Age group: 18-35 years (exceptions can be made in some extraordinary cases)
- Be ordinarily resident of Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Gujarat and West Bengal (Uttar Dinajpur and below)
- Have strong communication skills in at least one local language
- Have a strong interest in working with communities on sustainable agriculture and livelihoods, conservation of
- wildlife, biodiversity and the environment. ·
- Be willing to commit 10 months for the fellowship.
Applicants from rural tribal communities and economically weaker sections will be given priority. Green Hub is committed to providing equal opportunities to both women and men.
Applicants must not have any formal affiliation with any political party. Basic reading and writing skills in Hindi and English is helpful (not essential). The fellowship requires a certain level of fitness and working in challenging circumstances.
