Scope of work:

Background

The Banyan Impact Fellowship (BIF™), formerly known as the William J. Clinton Fellowship, is the flagship bi-national fellowship programme of the American India Foundation (AIF). The Fellowship is an immersive service-leadership programme that places emerging professionals from India and the United States with communities and host organizations across the two countries to promote mutual learning, capacity building, leadership development, and cross-cultural exchange, with the broader goal of driving sustainable social change.

During the ten-month Fellowship, participants are placed with leading non-profit organizations, social enterprises, and development institutions, where they work on projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across diverse thematic areas, including education, public health, livelihoods, gender, arts and culture, sports and community development.

As part of the Fellowship, participants relocate to diverse geographic locations across India, including

metropolitan cities, peri-urban areas, and rural communities. Fellows undertake official travel throughout the programme for project implementation, field visits, conferences, training programmes, and Fellowship events, while also undertaking personal travel during their tenure.

Recognizing its responsibility to ensure the health, safety, security, and wellbeing of Fellows throughout their Fellowship journey, AIFT seeks to engage a qualified agency to provide comprehensive Duty of Care, travel risk management, medical assistance, security advisory, and emergency response services.

The selected agency will serve as AIFT's (The American India Foundation Trust) Duty of Care partner, providing timely, reliable, and high-quality support before Fellows' arrival in India, throughout the Fellowship period, and during official programme-related travel. The agency will play a critical role in strengthening AIFT's risk management framework and ensuring that Fellows have continuous access to medical, security, travel, and mental wellbeing support whenever required.

Objective

The objective of this engagement is to establish a comprehensive Duty of Care programme that enables to:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all Banyan Impact Fellows (BIF)
  • Provide 24/7 medical, travel, and security assistance.
  • Support Fellows during medical emergencies and critical incidents.
  • Minimize health and security risks during domestic and international travel.
  • Provide timely intelligence and advisory services that enable informed travel decisions.
  • Strengthen AIFT's emergency preparedness and crisis response capabilities.

Eligible Beneficiaries

The services shall primarily cover:

  • Banyan Impact Fellows (Indian and International)
  • AIFT programme staff accompanying Fellows during official travel (where approved)
  • Visiting programme delegates, mentors, or facilitators, where authorised by AIFT
