Scope of work:
1. Background
The Banyan Impact Fellowship (BIF™), formerly known as the William J. Clinton Fellowship, is the flagship bi-national fellowship programme of the American India Foundation (AIF). The Fellowship is an immersive service-leadership programme that places emerging professionals from India and the United States with communities and host organizations across the two countries to promote mutual learning, leadership development, capacity building, and cross-cultural exchange.
Each Fellowship cohort includes international Fellows who relocate to India for approximately ten months to work with host organizations on projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During their Fellowship, participants are required to obtain the appropriate visa, complete mandatory registration with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO)/Foreigners Registration Office (FRO), remain compliant with Government of India immigration regulations throughout their stay, and complete all required immigration formalities before departure from India.
Given the time-sensitive nature of immigration processes and the importance of ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for Fellows, AIFT seeks to engage a qualified agency to provide end-to-end immigration, visa, FRRO, regulatory advisory, and compliance support throughout the Fellowship lifecycle.
Objective
The objective of this engagement is to engage an experienced immigration partner that can:
- Provide seamless immigration and FRRO support for all international Fellows.
- Ensure timely compliance with Government of India immigration regulations.
- Minimize delays that may affect Fellow onboarding and programme implementation.
- Deliver a high-quality Fellow experience through proactive communication and case management.
- Provide AIFT with complete visibility of immigration milestones through regular reporting and tracking.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to AIFT on immigration regulations affecting international Fellows.
Applicant eligibility requirement(s):
- Minimum eight years of experience providing immigration and FRRO services in India.
- Demonstrated experience supporting international fellowship programmes, universities, exchange programmes, NGOs, research institutions, volunteer programmes, or organisations managing long-term international placements.
- Proven expertise in Government of India immigration and FRRO processes.
- Strong liaison capability with FRRO/FRO offices across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience managing large cohorts of international participants.
- Dedicated immigration specialists and programme management team.
- Secure document management and case tracking systems.
- Compliance with applicable data privacy regulations.
