Britannia Nutrition Foundation (BNF) invites proposals from eligible Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to implement a comprehensive malnutrition and anemia reduction program in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh and Khordha district of Odisha.

Through targeted interventions, BNF aims to improve health outcomes for children, adolescents, pregnant and lactating women, and other at-risk populations. By leveraging partnerships with NGOs, government agencies, and community stakeholders, BNF works to create sustainable, impactful programs that enhance nutritional awareness, strengthen service delivery, and support the well-being of beneficiaries.

Program Objectives:

  • Reduction of Wasting in Intervention Areas: Targeted nutrition interventions to address acute malnutrition by providing nutrient-rich supplements, improving dietary practices, and strengthening community health initiatives.
  • Reduction in Incidences of Low Birth Weight: Improving maternal nutrition and access to antenatal care will help ensure healthier pregnancies, reducing cases of low birth weight among new born.
  • Strengthening of Service Delivery Mechanisms: Service delivery enhancement by equipping facilities, streamlining processes, and improving accessibility and quality of service delivery.
  • Capacity Building through Training: Trainings to empower frontline workers and community volunteers to deliver better services and promote nutritional awareness effectively.
  • Improvement in Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices (KAP) Related to Diet and Nutrition: Community awareness efforts to focus on enhancing awareness, promoting behaviour change to encouraging long-term positive changes in nutrition and hygiene practices.

Program Locations & coverage:

  • Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh: 50,000 beneficiaries (0-5-year-old children, pregnant and lactating women, and school children).
  • Khordha, Odisha: 14,000 beneficiaries.

Scope of Work:

  1. Securing necessary approvals: Taking necessary approvals from relevant authorities/Govt. departments for program implementation.
  1. Registration and Screening: Register approximately 50,000 beneficiaries in Shivpuri and 14,000 beneficiaries in Khurda, and exclusive growth monitoring & BMI for 0-5-year-old children, pregnant women, and lactating women.
  2. Monthly Monitoring: Conduct monthly monitoring of identified Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM)/Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) children and other beneficiary categories.
  3. Nutrition Supplementation and Kit Distribution: Provide nutrition supplements and distribute kits to eligible beneficiaries, including SAM/MAM children, anemic pregnant women, and low Body Mass Index (BMI) lactating women.
  4. Data and Reporting: Share monthly programme data and reports with BNF.
  5. Stock and Distribution Management: Manage the stock and distribution of Britannia’s iron-fortified biscuits to selected schools and Anganwadi Centers (AWCs).
  6. Volunteer Creation and Training: Identify and train women and student volunteers.
  7. Infrastructure and Logistical Support: Provide need-based infrastructure and logistical support for service delivery at schools and AWCs.
  8. Stakeholder Training: Conduct training sessions for frontline workers, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.

10.  Submission of Financial Documents – including fund utilisation report and annual audited financial statement.

Eligibility to Apply:

  1. NGO should have prior experience of work in Health & Nutrition domain
  2. It should have local presence, in the district/state (operational in the state/district)
  3. Should have all the documents listed in annexure 2 

Proposal Requirements: Interested NGOs should submit a comprehensive proposal that includes:

  1. Brief about the Organization: Provide an introduction to the NGO (maximum 1000 words).
  2. Past Programs: List of programs implemented over the last 3 years (Annexure 3).
  3. Implementation Plan: Detailed plan of program implementation.
  4. Budget Details: Submit a detailed budget using the format provided in Annexure 1.
  5. Required Documents: Include all documents listed in Annexure 2.
  6. Timeline and Gantt Chart: Provide a timeline and Gantt chart for the proposed activities

Submission Deadline: All proposals, along with duly filled annexures, must be submitted by 22nd February 2025.
