Background

Asian Paints under its CSR interventions have supported Water Resource Development Project in Dediapada block of Narmada district in the State of Gujarat

The broader objectives of the initiatives were:

• To promote basic supplementary irrigation facilities by creating and strengthening water harvesting structures and increase water storage and its availability.
• To improve and stabilize surface soil to convert unirrigated land to irrigated land.
• To encourage enhanced farming practices to increase household income of tribal farming community along with benefitting the environment.
• To organize and strengthen village institutions (User Group, Farmer Interest Group, and Farmer Producer Organization)

Key Objectives and Scope of Work

The study objective is to assess the extent and nature of impact of the programme upon famers livelihood.

The specific indicators to be assessed are as follows:

1. Impact on availability of surface and ground water
2. Impact on Potable water/Drudgery
3. Impact on Agricultural Land and Practices
4. Impact on Farmer’s livelihood
5. Other Impact Areas apart from Water Rejuvenation

Target Population

Village Community in and around the project locations specifically:

1. Farmers utilising the water for agriculture/animal husbandry and
2. Families utilising the water for potability and wash including the minimisation of drudgery for water collection for home use.

Requirements from the Agency:

1. Go through the baseline report/other reports available with Asian Paints.
2. Develop a sampling plan for farmers and other stakeholders like the government. Sampling plan should be at the district level.
3. The sampling methodology to take care of neutralizing all external factors to ensure that the results are the most accurate representation of the field situation.
4. For each scope, identify specific key indicators in consultation with Asian Paints Limited.
5. Field testing of the questionnaire to be done with initial set of respondents and based on the feedback, entire study to be executed.
6. The agency to submit a detailed proposal and quotation strictly as per the formats provided in Annexures.
7. Regular sharing of emerging data and trends within the order to incorporate the feedback in the report.
