Summary of the project:  

SELCO Foundation's Solutions Portal is a transformative platform designed to address demand  driven, end – user centric solutions by leveraging sustainable energy. This portal is part of  SELCO Foundation's broader mission to catalyze holistic, scalable, and replicable solutions  tailored to local contexts. The online platform currently houses renewable energy based  productive use appliances for linking stakeholders who are seeking sustainable and forward looking solutions across Agriculture & Allied, Processing, Manufacturing and Production, Retail  and Services, Textiles, and Crafts livelihood activities as well as business development tools and  resources. 


Aim and Objectives 

Aim: To develop a Solutions Portal 2.0, a need-based platform that aims to enable users to adopt  clean and distributed energy-driven solutions organically at scale, enhancing productivity and  sustainability. 

Objective: The platform is being developed to enable users to adopt clean and distributed energy driven solutions organically and at scale. To undertake research for developing a comprehensive  framework for individual profiling of entrepreneurs and inputs for the platform. This will assist in  designing platform features that inform product design and improve the user interface, ensuring a  user-centric design approach.  


Scope of Work 

Organizations and individuals are requested to share their proposals outlining methodology and  approach for conducting design research for developing solution portal as a platform. 

The timeline for the following deliverables will be 6 weeks (about 1 and a half months) and the  focus geography will be Karnataka.  

a. Conduct primary research with various consumer segments including end users'  communities, NGOs, social enterprises, local govt. etc.  

b. Comprehensive mapping of different user journeys based on the research who may  access the platform and outlining problem statement of end users to create a scalable  program for Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) adoption.  

c. Recommendations of services + prototype design outline catering to different user journeys and different touchpoints with other stakeholders and suggestive work-plan to  build the platform

Selection Criteria: 

The technical proposals will be evaluated based on the following general areas: 

1. Expertise in past relevant work: Entities with a minimum of 5 years of experience in  design research, product/ service design, or UI/UX development. 

2. Proven Track Record: Prioritize entities with a track record of researching and  developing strategy for product design, particularly those focused on integrated solutions  and socio-economic development through technology.

3. Team: The proposal needs to include CVs of key personnel/ organizational credentials,  past work samples, and detailed costing. 

4. Workplan: charts showing timelines and dependencies as well. 

• Proposal including approach and methodology 

• Workplan 

• A detailed budget for the deliverables 

• Sample examples of past work and other supporting documents based on the  criteria of selection 

The proposals will undergo internal review and evaluation. If they align with our  requirements and selection criteria, further correspondence will be communicated.
