About the Organization
SBI Youth for India Fellowship is a 13-month-long rural development Fellowship program, recognized as the flagship program of SBI Foundation, in partnership with 13 reputed NGOs. It provides a framework for India's young minds to join hands with rural communities, empathize with their struggles, and connect with their aspirations.
The Fellowship commenced in 2011, and since then, we have had 580+ alumni who completed the program, of which around 60% have transitioned to social sector organizations. Many work across CSRs, NGOs, Academia, and prestigious organizations such as J-PAL, ILO, NITI Aayog, etc. Some have also joined globally acclaimed universities like Harvard, Oxford, LSE, IDS, etc,. Additionally, over 30 of our alumni have set up their social enterprises inspired by their fellowship projects/journeys.
About the Proposal
According to our program cycle, the SBI YFI team will host the Valediction Ceremony for the outgoing batch of 2023-24 between 03-05 November 2024. The Valediction Ceremony brings forth both cohorts (Aug & Oct) together, where they get a chance to share briefly about their project, learnings, and insights gathered during their 13-month Fellowship. A sizable number of our Fellows hail from non-social-sector backgrounds & it is during this phase of their Fellowship journey the SBI YFI team works towards providing them with the necessary support in transitioning full-time to the social sector.
The YFI Team support includes facilitating connections to explore roles in the social sector ecosystem, periodically sharing knowledge, and showcasing our Fellow's profile to potential recruiters.
We seek to onboard an agency or consultant(s) with exposure/expertise in career transition-related processes for the SBI YFI batch of YFI 2023-24.The Consultant/Agency for the Career Transition Support will be impaneled for the current Batch 2023-24 which may be extended up to a total of 3 years, subject to review and satisfactory performance.
We onboard Fellows in 2 cohorts (August & October). The current batch comprises 54 Fellows (Female- 33, Male- 19, Cis Woman- 1, Trans & non-binary- 1). The Fellows typically come from diverse educational & professional backgrounds such as Law, Architecture, Management, Engineering, Medicine, etc. The Fellowship works in 12 Thematic Areas out of which our current batch has worked in the following Thematic Areas: Education- 17, Environmental Protection- 04, Alternate Energy-01, Health- 06, Rural Livelihood- 11, Self Governance- 03, Social Entrepreneurship- 05, Water- 01, Women’s Empowerment- 03, Technology- 02, and Traditional Craft -01.

Our expectations & requirements from the potential agency/ consultant would be as follows:
- Individual(s) who will be deputed by agency/consultant, as CV reviewer/mock interview panelist and/or communication trainer must have at least 15 years of professional experience in diverse roles with a focus on the development sector and must have previous official experience in the relevant field, i.e., must have been providing official services of CV review and/or must have been appointed officially as job interview panelist.
- The proposed budget for the engagement should be exclusive of expected out-of-pocket expenses such as travel, lodging, boarding arrangements etc. Such expenses shall be made in accordance with the instructions issued by the Youth for India team prior to initiating such arrangements.
- The agency/consultant should submit their proposal after mapping their offering with all 8 sub-requirements . They must mention the scope of engagement in a quantitative way wherever applicable.
- They must mention their team composition for this project, finances, list of inclusion and exclusions of their proposal.
