Room to Read India was established in 2003 and presently has programs in ten states – Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

Founded in 2000 on the belief that World Change Starts with Educated Children®, Room to Read creates a world free from illiteracy and gender inequality through education. We are achieving this goal by helping children in historically low-income communities develop literacy skills and a habit of reading, and by supporting girls as they build life skills to succeed in secondary school and negotiate key life decisions. Room to Read collaborates with local communities, partner organizations and governments to test and implement innovative models that can be integrated into the education system to deliver positive outcomes for children at scale. To date, Room to Read has benefited more than 39 million children and has worked in 24 countries and more than 192,000 communities, providing additional support through remote solutions that facilitate learning beyond the classroom. Room to Read aims to benefit 40 million children by 2025. 

Scope of Work

The agency will capture the entire process of the Children’s Library set up in schools, from the pre-setup stage to the final setup stage, over a period of 3 months. This project involves documenting the library setup in three states: Delhi, Karnataka, and Telangana. The agency will be responsible for recording all stages of the setup, conducting post-production editing, and creating a time-lapse video for each state, from initial filming to the final delivery.

Deliverables

• Shooting 3 videos across 3 states to capture the entire process of setting up a library.
• Handing over 3 completed time-lapse videos of the library setup.
• The imagery should be positive in nature, depicting Room to Read’s values of Collaboration, Action, Respect, Education and Scale and capturing the vibrant space created through a library.
• All images, video and B roll should be handed over to Room to Read India in a good-quality hard disk.

Criteria’s

• At least 5 years of photography experience, including fair experience of working with the development sector.
• Access to high-quality videography cameras, light, and other relevant equipment.
• Presence across all the Room to Read India states or ability to capture high-quality video as per the brief provided.
• Understanding of the brand guidelines and ability to deliver.
• Professional experience in successfully delivering for a similar engagement would be an asset.

Duration/shooting date and place

The agency is expected to begin work immediately upon signing the contract and complete the assignment by the end of September. A detailed work plan, the blueprint of the shoot, and a timeline should be submitted to the communication team before the shoot commences. This should also include the budget and travel to states.

Role of Room to Read India

Room to Read will be responsible for finalizing the location for the same. Room to Read India would also track and monitor the progress of the shoot.

Payment

• 25% payment will be made on the signing of the contract.
• 75% will be released after receiving the final deliverables from the agency.

Technical evaluation criteria

The technical proposals received will be evaluated on the following criteria:

• Experience in working in the development sector.
• Local presence across geographies
• Technical competence
• Understanding of the project

• Financial Proposal will be asked later upon successful completion of the technical round.
  • Only Shortlisted Agencies will be contacted and might be called for a face-to-face interaction with the panel.
  • Any incomplete application or process deviation, the proposals will automatically be rejected.
  • Proposals received after the prescribed deadline will not be considered.
  • Selected agencies will be required to sign and abide by the Child Protection policy of Room to Read.
