Job Description

The Academic Manager – Science plays a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the Science curriculum across schools, ensuring alignment with national education policies and global best practices. This position is central to fostering an environment of innovation, creativity, and excellence in teaching and learning.

As an Academic Manager, you will lead the development of comprehensive and engaging Science programs, empower teachers through professional development initiatives, and drive impactful student learning outcomes. You will oversee the integration of cutting-edge educational technologies, manage academic events, and support schools in achieving high-quality standards in Science education.

Job Responsibilities

Curriculum Design and Development

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and review of the Science curriculum.
  • Ensure alignment with affiliating boards and the National Education Policy 2020.
  • Plan and manage resources for Science learning centers for Grades 1 and 2.
  • Curate learning resources and reference materials for students and teachers.
  • Establish and maintain resource centers in schools for teaching aids and materials.
  • Enhance the quality of textbooks, library resources, and teaching materials.
  • Lead the implementation of academic programs like Robotics, VR Labs, Atal Tinkering Labs, and more.
  • Monitor tech-enabled learning environments and EdTech strategies in schools.
  • Collaborate with IT for Global Learning Management System implementation.
  • Upskill staff in technology integration and innovative teaching practices.

Teacher Professional Development

  • Plan and deliver annual and ongoing training for Science teachers, section heads, and school leaders.
  • Coordinate external training programs and share best practices with schools.
  • Provide tools for teacher observation, performance review, and professional growth.
  • Conduct classroom observations and co-teaching sessions to improve teaching quality.
  • Promote innovative and hands-on teaching methods.

Assessment and Evaluation

  • Develop and review assessment tools and strategies.
  • Analyze student performance trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Support academic strategic planning and quality assurance initiatives.

Event Planning and Implementation

  • Organize and manage science-related events to promote creativity and critical thinking.
  • Develop guidelines, schedules, and resources for events, managing logistics and outcomes.

Communications

  • Edit articles for awards, accolades, and school publications.
  • Review and approve content for newsletters, websites, and social media platforms.

Administrative Support and Coordination

  • Assist in recruiting Science teachers and section heads.
  • Contribute to standardized documentation, including handbooks and manuals.
  • Monitor budgets for academic operations and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with vendors and support partner schools in implementing initiatives.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in curriculum development and teacher training.
  • Strong understanding of EdTech integration and blended learning models.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
