Job Description

WSP is seeking a Carbon Consultant to join our large and growing technical support team in Bengaluru/Noida to work with our UK wide national Sustainability & Carbon. The successful applicant will be a part of data handling professionals who will be part of WSP iCRC UK Advisory Team, delivering the highest standards of technical work and aiding the continued success of the S&CC business by assisting us in our client focused delivery of projects. The role is for an enthusiastic, efficient and highly-organised professional with extensive experience of quantifying carbon emissions and compiling carbon footprints. Job Responsibilities

The successful applicant would be responsible for many of the following:

  • The management and delivery of technical work (e.g. SECR, carbon management quantification and engagement) and outputs (reports, briefing notes, carbon models) relating to climate change mitigation for clients
  • Leading, authoring and contributing to the GHG chapters as part of the consenting requirements for developments
  • Analysing and researching clients’ sustainability and climate change challenges and using best practice tools and approaches to provide industry-leading advice
  • Assisting and - where appropriate - leading, preparation of material for A-class quality proposals, capability statements and strategic documents

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

We are looking for outstanding candidates with passion and enthusiasm for confronting climate change and sustainability challenges for our clients. You will need to be a proactive individual with a helpful attitude and inquisitive nature, willingness to foster our strong team ethic, with exceptional interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate these essential skills:

  • A relevant engineering degree (ideally at Masters level) in environmental or the sustainability realm
  • 5 or more years’ experience in a professional business environment, for instance in consultancy, as part of an in-house team or other relevant organisation working in this field
  • Project, management – reviewing and delivering outcomes on time, to budget and to the expected quality
  • Strong experience of GHG strategies and quantification, including carbon footprinting of infrastructure projects
  • Applied knowledge of guidance and best practice in terms of climate change mitigation – in particular knowledge of PAS 2080
  • A strong understanding of related sustainability issues and services
  • The ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, both in written and verbal form
  • Fully competent in conducting numerical analyses in Excel, and the production of concise,
  • impactful written/presentation outputs to clients and the external market.
