Together, we aim to advance plant-forward consumer advocacy and public policy advocacy and to enable a transition to plant-forward and sustainable food systems.

Positions: Assistant Manager - Policy & Advocacy (One)

Location: Delhi-based, with frequent field visits

Type: Remote

Timings: Office hours (10am-6pm). We work on some weekends and holidays based on situational demands.

Job description:

We seek a passionate and skilled professional to start immediately for the position of Assistant Manager in the Policy and Advocacy team of Samayu with a background in Legal or Policy Research and Advocacy.

As Assistant Manager, you will work with the Research and Policy Team at Samayu. You will manage the overall work of policy and advocacy team which includes research, writing of documents i.e background note, concept note, policy paper and briefs, analyze policies/data/information to support the team, prepare presentations and communication tools for the policy stakeholders, and work towards solid policy advocacy for Samayu's goal. You need to have an in-depth understanding of issues of food system of India, climate and environmental issues, and the strategic positions of critical actors, including farmers, policymakers, financial institutions, economic leaders, civil society, and animal activists, along with media professionals, etc. on the prospects of plant based lifestyle and implementation of One Health approach in the animal agriculture sector in India. You need to meet various stakeholders involved in Samayu endeavours and undertake field trips frequently as and when requirement basis.

Duration: Initially for 1 year (may be extended based on performance).

Qualification :

Essential: Master's in Public Policy/Law/Development Studies/Climate or Environment Studies or related fields.

Desirable: Profound knowledge and field experience in Public Policy/Law/Development Studies/Climate or Environment Studies or related fields.

Experience: 2+ years experience in public policy & advocacy or project management with reputed organizations.

Skills/Knowledge/Mindset:

Research and writing backgrounds in law, policies, and development reforms.

Prior experience in relevant fields and knowledge of policy frameworks and governance will be an added advantage.

Excellent research, analysis, and writing skills in English and Hindi.

Interpersonal and professional communication skills.

Self-motivated & team work spirit.

Skills in Google Office Suite, MS office.
