The niche for us in India is our concentration on child malnutrition in India, employing both nutrition-sensitive and nutrition-specific interventions. We operate in four states—Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Gujarat—encompassing 1,266 rural and tribal villages and 160 urban slum Anganwadi centers.

Job Description

Assistant manager for MEAL will develop and maintain the organization’s databases. He/ She will be responsible for creating data storage and retrieval systems, troubleshoot database issues, and implement database recovery procedures and safety protocols. This position will be linked with the organization’s MEAL department with the aim of supervising the daily activities of MEAL team including monitoring and support to projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Field Officer, responsibilities include but do not limit to:
  • Maintains database results by setting and enforcing standards and controls.
  • Upgrades hardware and software by assessing transaction processing and database production options.
  • Maintains database performance by troubleshooting problems.
  • Secures database by developing policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Regular monitoring of projects, supporting Data Monitoring officers at various locations,
  • Training and capacity building of staff on CommCare, My SQL, Tableau as per requirement
  • Supporting the MEAL team in validating data from the field- both rural and urban projects assessments, as required, to ensure data-driven decision making and program improvement.
  • Offer technical assistance to Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) staff on measurement procedures and participate in training sessions to enhance their skills and capacity, ensuring accurate data collection and program implementation.
  • Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Responsible for data quality control, data safety, Competent in using various software (such as SQL, Tableau, CommCare, Survey CTO, etc.) to perform the aforementioned responsibilities.
  • Oversee an organization’s data storage and retrieval system.
  • Ensure the safety of stored data by implementing security programs.
  • To devise disaster recovery plans, upgrade databases as needed, install and test new software and run back-up programs to prevent the loss of any data.
  • Training MEAL officers in the state, districts, or block level offices in both rural and urban locations. Coordination with them to streamline and standardize the data collected for different studies and programs with the support of Evaluation senior manager.
  • Expand knowledge and skills to enhance contribution to cross- disciplinary projects implemented and planned in AAH India
  • Regular and thorough documentation of knowledge created within AAH India in AAH India’s Knowledge Repository

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT/computer analytics or management information systems / A public health professional well versed with CommCare, SQL, Tableau)
  • 3-5 years of work experience in the field of public health is desirable
