Job Description

The Associate/Manager, STEM Curriculum and Facilitation will work with the curriculum team under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Curriculum and Facilitation.

The candidate will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and facilitating learning spaces for students who are selected for the Adira Program. This will involve designing and delivering engaging and impactful learning experiences that are tailored to the needs of the students and that help them to develop the knowledge, skills and strategies they need to successfully navigate high school and competitive exams in STEM.

The candidate will also be responsible for co-designing and implementing monitoring tools that will guide the evaluation process of student learning.

The candidate will work closely with other members of the organisation to identify areas where the program can be improved and to implement changes that will enhance the experience of students. This may involve collaborating with program designers to refine the curriculum, working with facilitators to improve the delivery of learning experiences etc.

Overall, the candidate will need to be highly organised, detail-oriented, and adept at working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of adult learning theory and principles of program evaluation. They should also be committed to the organisation's mission of supporting change makers and creating a positive social impact.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute a comprehensive Math and Physics curriculum in collaboration with the STEM Team that meets the needs of the students.
  • Create scaffolded yet rigorous plans that motivate students to learn the subject.
  • Use customised strategies that enable differentiation and individual learning for each student.
  • Integrate use of technology in instruction and student learning.
  • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the curriculum on a regular basis, making modifications as necessary.
  • Conduct check-ins with the students to ensure they receive the support and guidance they need.
  • Use Khan Academy and other AI tools for High School Math and Physics, SAT, AP preparation and remediation.
  • Set goals with and for students, and set up mechanisms to hold them accountable.
  • Provide SAT support in Mathematics.
  • Provide support in Advanced Placement Mathematics [Calculus and Statistics] and CBSE / NIOS Physics for students who are keen for careers in STEM.
  • Curate a bridge program for High School Mathematics, Physics, AP and SAT as needed.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate resources, including software and other instructional materials.
  • Co-create and guide evaluation metrics for students and support the team with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL).

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Educational background in STEM.
  • Passion for STEM education and youth development.
  • Proven facilitation and coaching skills.
  • Direct experience working with adolescents, either in formal or informal educational settings.
  • Detail orientation and organisation skills.
  • Data analytical skills.
  • Fluent in English.

Proximate Experience

  • A strong understanding of Indian culture and regional differences is highly desirable
  • Experience with working with ESL learners.
  • Familiarity with Khan Academy.
  • Familiarity with NIOS curriculum is preferred but not required.
  • Verbal communication skills in Hindi are preferred but not necessary.
