About the Organization

"NABFINS is an initiative of NABARD born out of serious concerns about the practices of NBFC MFIs in the mid-2000. Entrusted with the responsibility of promoting the microfinance sector besides scaling up SHG-Bank Linkage NABARD thought it fit to form a Micro Finance institution on a pilot basis with the objective of developing it as a model NBFC in the country which will facilitate setting up of benchmarks and standards for the MFI sector. In particular, NABFINS objective was to ensure that the various maladies found in the sector such as lack of transparency in accounting and disclosure, high transaction cost, lack of diversification in products, increased rates of interest, coercive collection practices, etc. are sought to be eliminated by establishing a fair and transparent Micro Finance Institution.” NABFINS provides microfinance and other financial services to the needy and disadvantaged sections of the society for securing their prosperity in rural, semi-urban, and urban areas. NABARD, an apex development, a financial institution in our country had pioneered the world’s largest microfinance movement called the SHG Bank Linkage program. NABFINS as a subsidiary of NABARD shall evolve into a model microfinance Institution to finance SHGs and JLGs and to set standards of governance among the MFIs, operate with exemplary levels of transparency, and extend its outreach to the needy, directly or through Business correspondents and Business Facilitators.

Job Description

The Cluster Head would be responsible for business development, operations management, training, staff management for his branches. He would be reporting to the Regional Manager and would have a team of Branch Heads reporting to him. In addition to this, he will also be responsible for providing compliance towards audit observations in his branches.

Job Responsibilities

Business Development and Monitoring

  • Plan and follow-up for disbursement achievement for the Branches
  • Identify new location for business purpose through his team of Branch Heads
  • Setting Target for his branches
  • Follow up with branches to ensure complete collection
  • Have a timely review with branches regarding present overdue accounts and NPA accounts
  • Take action and plan for NPA accounts with Branch Heads
  • Monitoring of Post Disbursement Visits for CSOs, CSEs and BHs and review the same with team during branch visits.
  • Review Work plan and Work Done with all branches.

Business Administration and Manpower management

  • Has to look after branch setup and basic requirements for branches.
  • Consolidate and share the admin data details as required from HO.
  • Co-ordinate with Regional Manager for manpower planning and recruitment.
  • Co-ordinate with Regional Manager for resolving any branch asset requirement.
  • Control staff attrition and thus maintain adequate manpower as per budgetary allowance.

Training and Process Review

  • Provide training and process knowledge to all branch staff.
  • Inform and educate staff about any change in business process.
  • Provide branches sales training during branch visits.

MIS and Daily reporting

  • Preparing and monitoring daily business MIS from all branches in his region and sharing the same to Regional Manager.
  • Follow-up with branches to ensure that data is entered in CBS on daily basis for disbursements, collections, etc.
  • Provide necessary support to branch as required.
  • Escalate necessary information to Regional Manager from branch and vice-versa.

People Management and Team development

  • Leave Management and approval authority of the leaves taken by employees of region.
  • Co-ordinate with HR to raise any necessary disciplinary action on required staff.
  • Responsible to upkeep company vision and best practices in his branches.
  • Provide a mentoring role to all employees

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • 4-5 years’ experience with MFI, Banking in managing multiple branch portfolio in the operational area.
  • Knowledge of local language and willingness to travel extensively is mandatory.

Education and Experience

  • Graduates
  • Must be well-versed with the local language and English.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Must have a working knowledge of handling computer systems.
  • Driver’s License and Motorcycle is a must.
