About Magic Bus
Founded in 1999, Magic Bus works with children and young people living in poverty, in India, taking them from a childhood full of challenges to a life with meaningful livelihoods. We equip children and young people in the age group of 12 to 18, with the skills and knowledge they need to grow up and move out of poverty. Core Accountabilities:
1. Ensuring awareness of programme and support through schemes with block/ cluster level officials in the allocated field area2. Enabling heads of school and teachers across schools to participate in the programme through regular visits, encouragement3. Managing and ensuring trained, regular and professional Life Skills Enablers who are Magic Bus employees (6-8) who implement the programme in letter and spirit4. Maintaining, analyzing data for programme efficacy5. Writing and submitting reports – narrative and financial, as required6. Upholding the values of the organization at all levels of the intervention
Core Deliverables
1. To provide programmatic and supervisory support in programme implementation to the Program Manager and is a mid-level manager, directly managing a team of 6 – 8 Life Skills Educators.2. Mapping the area of operations in the cluster and the communities, playgrounds, schools etc.3. Partnership management and liasoning with local bodies, communities, schools, government institutions, etc.4. Identifying & supporting the recruitment of Life Skill Educators and Community Coordinators in respective project.5. On field team management and supervision.6. Rolling out and taking ownership of technology adaptation within the cluster. Job Description - Cluster Manager (CM)7. Identify training needs of staff and accordingly plan for capacity building programs / trainings for the team members8. Preparing annual programme implementation plan and roll out with regular tracking of performance indicators of the project.9. Responsible for data accuracy and updated record keeping of project documents in line with the Standard Operating Procedures.10. Regular project reviews, strategy building for smooth programme implementation.11. Effective financial management and control of programme budgets to monitor and oversee underspending and variance.12. Collecting and documenting the progress on program outcomes to be shared with HO on quarterly basis13. Documenting and sharing program updates with block officers and critical government officials on quarterly basis
Qualification:
⁻ Candidate must have Masters in social work or any equivalent qualification⁻ Minimum 5-7 years of work experience in the social sector⁻ Good communications, facilitation and managerial skills are required⁻ Must have solid ground job experience⁻ Must have experience in report writing and MIS tracking⁻ Must have experience of managing donors in field⁻ Fluent in the local language. Additionally local dialect knowledge will be appreciated⁻ Preference will be given to candidates having experience of working with teachers⁻ Basic knowledge in Microsoft excel & word
