The Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC) launched EPIC-India in 2014 to confront this challenge through cutting-edge research and targeted engagement with local stakeholders.

Job Description

The Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC India) is seeking a full-time Communications Intern who would support the EPIC India communications team on identified workstreams. This position will be based in New Delhi.

Job Responsibilities

• Visual & Video Communication: Craft compelling visual designs and develop short videos, reels, and YouTube Shorts to effectively communicate economic and environmental research across social media platforms.
• Content Creation & Strategy: Assist in ideating, developing, and executing content for social media, website, blogs, reports, and infographics, translating complex research into accessible and policy-relevant narratives.
• Design & Branding: Create visually engaging creatives and high-quality knowledge products—including event collaterals and reports—using tools like Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign, ensuring brand consistency and impact.
• Digital Outreach & Data Management: Contribute to strengthening EPIC India’s digital outreach strategies, monitor media and policy developments, support strategic outreach tasks, and assist in managing and organizing contact databases.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Undergraduate degree in journalism, development studies, mass communication, or other related fields.
• Prior knowledge of using social media platforms for research amplification will be helpful.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

• Ability to articulate complex ideas into impactful content.
• Understanding of India’s energy and environmental challenges is critical.
• Excellent writing skills with high proficiency in MS Office, i.e., Word/Excel/PowerPoint, etc.
• Design tools such as Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro or any video editing software.
• The ability to multitask, identify priorities and meet deadlines is essential.
• Prior experience in synthesizing research into digestible content for different mediums will be an added advantage.
