Job Description

• Build and manage national & state-level models (e.g., capacity expansion, production cost, resource adequacy, and dispatch analysis).
• Conduct technical & economic feasibility studies in power system, resource potential assessments & design renewable energy roadmaps & business models for storage.
• Analyze policies, regulations, and planning frameworks related to RE integration and grid operations.
• Support research and stakeholder engagement on just transition strategies, focusing on inclusive energy planning, workforce reskilling, and equitable access to clean energy.
• Coordinate with utilities, regulators, and clients to present model results and project findings.
• Contribute to research reports, proposals, presentations, and communication materials aligned with project and policy goals.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Basic: Bachelor-s degree in electrical/ power/ mechanical engineering or a related field- with a minimum of 2 years of relevant research or technical experience.
• Preferred: PhD or Master-s degree in electrical/ power systems/ renewable energy/ energy & environment/ energy economics- or related discipline.
• All educational qualifications must be in First Class.

Skills

• Strong analytical and research skills in energy system modelling and power system analysis.
• Proficiency in modelling tools/ software such as PLEXOS- GridPath- PyPSA- DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Programming expertise in Python- MATLAB- or Julia.
• Understanding of renewable energy policies- power sector regulations- and decarbonization strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication- stakeholder engagement- and teamwork capabilities.
