Our researchers work across the domains of Growth, Finance, Health and Human Development including Urbanisation; Energy, Natural Resources, Non Fuel Minerals and Mining, Climate Change and Sustainability; and Foreign Policy and Security. All our research and policy recommendations are freely available to the public.
Job Description
The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP), an independent think tank based in New Delhi, is looking to hire a full-time Communications Manager. The ideal candidate should be passionate about shaping policy discussions by conveying our research findings to key audiences in a clear, accessible, and impactful manner, while maintaining the highest standards of rigour, nuance, and depth.
Job Responsibilities
- Overseeing the creation and implementation of communication strategies aligned with CSEP’s principles and objectives.
- Analysing performance data using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Hootsuite, and MailChimp to assess digital traffic, user engagement, and campaign effectiveness.
- Managing CSEP’s website, including daily updates, content uploads (papers, articles, blogs, events), and creating dynamic content using WordPress.
- Leading social media efforts by promoting CSEP’s research and initiatives through engaging digital content, such as videos, explainers, and multimedia across platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.
- Developing and executing innovative strategies to disseminate research effectively, with a focus on maximising policy impact.
- Conceptualising, drafting, and editing key publications, such as newsletters, annual reports, and other communication materials.
- Ensuring content meets high editorial standards, delivering clear, accurate, and consistent messaging.
- Brainstorming and guiding the team on enhancing both internal and external communications, with a focus on audience engagement across various sectors and digital platforms.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- 5-7 years’ experience in communications, preferably in a think tank, non-profit, or public policy environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field (a Master’s degree is preferred).
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English.
- Proficiency in managing social media platforms and content management systems.
- Strong understanding of web and social media analytics tools, such as Google Analytics and LinkedIn Analytics, and familiarity with communications tools like MailChimp and Hootsuite.
- Competence in setting up and using broadcasting platforms, such as Zoom and YouTube.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Expertise in SEO best practices, including meta tagging and keyword optimisation, to improve content discoverability.
- Familiarity with podcast production, including editing and publishing, to create impactful thought leadership content in audio formats.
