Location: Bhavnagar

Salary Range: ₹35,000 – ₹40,000 per month

Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience

Qualification: BSc / MSc (Agriculture)

 

Role:

The coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination, support, and management of Sustainable Agriculture and Livelihood Security interventions implemented by Utthan in coastal areas. This role involves planning, providing technical expertise, strategizing, and strengthening team capacity while fostering community leadership and partnerships within a diverse ecosystem.

The role requires a people-centered approach that integrates social justice and gender equity to ensure inclusivity and sustainability in the program.


Specific Responsibilities

1. Coordination, Technical Support, and Program Implementation

  • Plan and execute sustainable agriculture initiatives at the grassroots level as per the proposal, ensuring timely implementation.
  • Ensure program targets and deliverables are met within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Provide technical support to the team for capacity development and institutional strengthening.
  • Ensure technical aspects of program design are effectively integrated.
  • Support the development of contextualized IEC materials and best practice guides.

2. Capacity Building

  • Facilitate and conduct trainings, workshops, and capacity-building sessions for the team and community leaders.
  • Enhance the capacity of the field team by sharing information and analysis on sectoral trends, new government policies, schemes, and programs related to agriculture and rural development.
  • Developing various training module related to agriculture and other subjects.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)

  • Ensuring accurate data entry and regular tracking through Utthan’s Management Information System (MIS).
  • Document case studies, success stories, and lessons learned to improve program strategies.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the team and Community Resource Persons (CRPs) for review and planning.
  • Identify challenges in implementation and recommend corrective actions for improvement.
  • Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets and targeted delivery levels.
  • Coordinate timely program and financial reporting as per requirement.

4. Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Establish linkages and synergies between existing livelihood security programs to maximize impact.
  • Ensure coordination within the program team and with support teams through regular communication and reporting.
  • Collaborate with government and non-government stakeholders to strengthen program implementation, policy advocacy, and resource mobilization for sustainable agriculture and livelihood security.
  • Represent Utthan in relevant block, district, state, and national networks, alliances, and stakeholder forums related to livelihood to advocate, influence policy decisions, and strengthen program partnerships.

5. Organizational Development

  • Contribute to organizational planning and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure alignment of programmatic work with the organization’s mission, policies, and strategic objectives.
  • Support the development and implementation of organizational policies, guidelines, and operational frameworks.
  • Participate in organizational planning and programming processes.
  • Provide regular feedback and support performance appraisals and capacity enhancement plans for the team.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of sustainable agriculture, climate-resilient practices, and agroecology.
  • Experience in planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management for agricultural programs.
  • Ability to integrate gender equity in programs, mentor field teams, and support grassroots leadership.
  • Competency in digital and data management, including data collection tools, agri-tech solutions, MS Office, and digital communication platforms.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken Gujarati and English
  • Willingness to travel atleast 8-10 days a month.
