Project: Right to Health & Well-being – Building Resilient Communities

Job Summary: We are looking for a District Coordinator to lead and implement project activities at the district level, ensuring effective coordination, community engagement and collaboration with government and civil society. The coordinator shall contribute to the objective of enhancing individual, group and community resilience across all ages, genders and other social divides. The person will work with underserved rural communities in a multiprofessional team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Coordination & Implementation

  • Lead and oversee the implementation of project activities on health and wellbeing, gender justice, and community resilience in Chamba district.
  • Develop and execute district-level action plans in alignment with project goals.
  • Coordinate with community-based organizations, local government authorities, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of project initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and quality delivery of project interventions, trainings, and awareness programs.

2. Community Mobilization & Capacity Building

  • Engage with women, marginalized communities, and grassroots groups to strengthen their participation in health and well-being initiatives.
  • Organize workshops, training sessions, and awareness campaigns on health rights, gender justice, and community resilience.
  • Build and support networks of women leaders, community health volunteers, and local advocates.

3. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Strengthen partnerships with local health authorities, NGOs, and community leaders.
  • Represent the organization in district-level forums, policy discussions, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Support grassroots efforts to ensure better health services and policies for marginalized communities.

4. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation

  • Track and document project progress, outcomes, and impact.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, case studies, and presentations in English and Hindi.
  • Maintain accurate records and data to support monitoring and evaluation processes.

5. Administrative & Team Coordination

  • Supervise field teams, volunteers, and community facilitators involved in the project.
  • Ensure efficient financial and logistical management of project activities.
  • Collaborate with the central team to align district activities with the broader organizational strategy.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: University degree preferably in a public health related field
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the field of community engagement, preferably in health rights, gender justice, or resilience-building projects.
    • Languages: Proficiency in English and Hindi (spoken and written) is mandatory. Knowledge of the local dialect will be an advantage.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and online collaboration tools.
  • Familiarity with data collection, analysis, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Prior experience working with women in rural areas and with marginalized communities is highly desirable.
  • Personal Attributes:

  • Leadership, coordination, and management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the district and work in remote rural settings.

Reporting & Supervision

  • Reports to: Project Manager / Program Lead
  • Supervises: Field facilitators, volunteers, and community-based partners.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with frequent travel to various rural areas. Fieldwork may involve working in challenging and low-resource environments.
  • Remuneration: JAGORI RURAL CHARITABLE TRUST applies a salary scheme to all its programs. Salary will be commensurate with the responsibility of the position and the experience of the candidate.
