Job Summary: - The representative for the Tribal TB initiative plays a crucial role in promoting tuberculosis awareness and management at the district level. This involves actively participating in various public forums, compiling reports for presentations, and preparing meeting minutes. The representative is responsible for reporting comprehensive district data to the State M&E officer and documenting best practices and challenges. Ensuring the availability of TB services in both community and health facilities, as well as identifying and addressing gaps, is essential. They engage with stakeholders to form TB forums and advocate for tribal representation while coordinating with government departments and local NGOs. Regular community outreach, training of TB Champions, and conducting IEC activities are vital to fostering local involvement and awareness. Overall, the role emphasizes collaboration, data management, and community engagement to enhance the effectiveness of the Tribal TB initiative.

This role will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Representing Tribal TB initiative in all district’s public forums (review meeting, DC meeting, NTEP, NHM, Tribal Welfare, etc)

• Collation of reports for the district to be presented at district forums

• Preparing MoM for review meetings and other relevant meetings done

• Reporting of complete district field data to State M&E officer.

• Regular and real time documentation of best practices, case studies, challenges and other stories and onward sharing

• Regular feedback to state Tribal TB initiative on the gaps and challenges identified

• Ensure availability of services both in Community and health facilities by regular checks and flagging gaps in allocated blocks. (Optimum distribution of sputum containers, referral formats, lab tech availability, machine functionality, treatment initiation, DBT, Informant Incentive etc.)

• Liaison with all relevant stakeholders to:

➢ Ensure formation of TB Forums

➢ Ensure representation of Tribal Community in TB Forums

➢ Ensure representation of TB Champions in TB Forums

 ➢ Coordinate and engage with district level Govt departments for TB awareness and greater involvement (RDPR, SRLM, PDS, WCD, Labour and Welfare, Mines and Industries)

➢ Engage with PSUs, Private sector health facilities, Private Companies

➢ Encourage/ Advocate for TB sensitization sessions in Statutory Committees

• Liaison with local NGOs and CSOs as per need

• Visit tribal villages/ habitations and conduct meetings with community influencers

• Ensure all community level activities are conducted as per SOPs, quality protocols and project guidelines

• Conduct IEC activities related to TB in villages, panchayats, hamlets and Haat/ Bazaars level or any other platform

• Identify TB Champions from among TB Survivors

• Recruit and arrange for training of potential TB Champions

• Ensure availability of sputum containers, Falcon tubes, referral forms etc at the relevant community spots and with identified Community influencers willing to do referrals.

• Ensure registration of Community influencers on Nikshay who are willing to do referrals.

• Recording and reporting of project activities and detailed profiling/ mapping of Community Influencers

• Maintain records of referrals from relevant Community Influencers Any other task assigned based on operational need

Note: The principal responsibilities listed above are an illustrative list and not an exhaustive list. Additional responsibilities may be added from time to time depending on Project requirements.

Desirable Qualification & Skills

  • MSW /MA Social Work/ M.Sc Graduate/ Post-graduate in relevant field of health and life sciences preferred
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple government departments and district level stake holders
  • Ability to share knowledge and learnings across varied forums at district/state-level
  • Ability to identify best practices and suggest innovations

  • Candidates from tribal communities will be given preference
  • TB survivors will be given preference
  • Women candidates will be given preference
  • Resident of the district (applied for)/willing to relocate
  • Understanding of District Health administration

Desirable Experience

  • At least 2-4 years’ experience in a reputed international/ large non-governmental organization/government
  • organization
  • Experience in managing government stake holders at district[1]level
  • Experience in the TB program would be preferable
  • Experience in state/district level work desirable

➢The incumbent should be able to join the duty station at the earliest
