Job Summary: - The Tribal TB Initiative, launched on 26th March 2021, is a first-of-its-kind initiative that brings together several stakeholders with diverse capabilities to tackle the multi-dimensional issues specific to TB, prevalent among the tribal areas and communities. It includes collaboration between donors, governments and partners to strengthen primary health care service delivery from a system’s perspective, building a strong technology & information backbone, and providing support to the health workforce in the tribal areas.

Implemented over a four-year period by Piramal Swasthya under the overarching guidance of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the Initiative hopes to eliminate TB in the tribal Districts and achieve the following results: (1) increase in TB case notification (2) increase in treatment success rates among DS-TB and DR-TB (3) decrease in deaths among TB patients (3) increase in community participation for TB prevention and care activities (4) reduction in TB vulnerability.

About the Role

The role is expected to work towards,

  1. Documentation of best practices, success stories, challenges, operational processes etc., compilation, editing, and building a repository of products suitable for internal and external dissemination.
  2. Support in provision of technical assistance to central and state teams for communication and knowledge management
  3. Develop communications strategy in alignment with project requirement, coordinate and/or produce print or digital collateral material (e.g., quarterly newsletter, flyers, brochures, annual report) in coordination with the larger communications and knowledge management team.
  4. Ensure brand consistency (visual and textual representation) in alignment with organization guidelines across all channels and program sites. 
  5. Develop processes and systems for operational efficiency such photo library and donor events; train and hand-hold the project teams to generate and coordinate production of content. 
  6. Plan and execute donor/stakeholders’ visits or events with relevant collaterals
  7. Increase organization’s visibility through creating strong relationships with media, organizing media visits, and generating press coverage as well as op-eds, media advisories and press releases for events when required.
  8. Content collection from field, validation, refinement/editing for blogs, case stories, videos, campaigns, social media and related offline content in coordination with the knowledge management team.
  9. Coordinate with NTSU, knowledge management team and state teams to curate content streams for social media

Note: The principal responsibilities listed above are an illustrative list and not an exhaustive list. Additional responsibilities may be added from time to time depending on Project requirements.

Desirable Qualification & Skills

  • MSW /MA Social Work/ M.Sc Graduate/ Post-graduate in relevant field of health and life sciences preferred
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple government departments and district level stake holders
  • Ability to share knowledge and learnings across varied forums at district/state-level
  • Ability to identify best practices and suggest innovations

  • Ability to manage and coordinate with diverse teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Candidates from tribal communities will be given preference
  • TB survivors will be given preference
  • Women candidates will be given preference

Desirable Experience & Skills

  • 2-5 year of related work experience in a reputed international/ large non-governmental organization/government organization
  • Understanding of NTEP and other National Health Programs
  • Working knowledge of designing strategies as per field insights
  • Proven experience in content creation and design
  • Excellent speaking and presentation skills. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English needed, proficiency of Hindi and other official/regional languages desired
  • Should work well in diverse teams and have experience managing multiple vendors
  • Ability to seamlessly multitask in a fast-paced environment, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of design software packages, a/v editing tools, Microsoft Office 365, and online meeting applications like Zoom/Microsoft Teams
  • Expertise in multimedia production, like short videos, photography, and audio clips in addition to basic graphic design production and social media experience desired
  • A good development sector knowledge. Prior engagement/desire to work with public health/ service delivery/ Indian tribal communities as a focus area
  • Attentive to details
  • Ability to train and hand-hold the state and district teams as and when required
  • Experience in the TB program or health program would be preferable
  • Experience of working on websites and knowledge portals will be an added advantage

Duration of posting:

  • The incumbent should be able to join the duty station at the earliest.
  • Fixed term contract

Travel:  Low to Medium travel to various intervention districts.
