About the Organization

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) is the nodal agency in the administrative structure of the Central Government for the planning, promotion, co-ordination and overseeing the implementation of India’s environmental and forestry policies and programmes.

The Ministry also serves as the nodal agency in the country for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme (SACEP), International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and for the follow-up of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED). The Ministry is also entrusted with issues relating to multilateral bodies such as the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD), Global Environment Facility (GEF) and of regional bodies like Economic and Social Council for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP) and South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) on matters pertaining to the environment.

Job Description

• Support Research work on Climate change adaptation and National Cost al
• Mission
• Collection of information related to project activities from field and coordination between SPMUs and iv. NPMU
• Support the domain specialist in thei r day to day work / activities and documentation
• Support in functioning and operation of NPMU activities and organising meetings, workshops and awareness
• Programme
• Undertake field visits, examining the reports and preparing notes, and other associated technical and scientific work on day to day basis
• Preparation of case studies, success stories on impact of Community Based events to the communities.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

Essential

• Master’s degree in Environment science/ natural resources management/ marine sciences/ Climate science

Desirable

• Persons with Ph.D with research experience, published papers and post qualification experience in the relevant filed would be preferred.

Relevant Work experience

• More than 5 years of working experience in the a rea of climate change adaptation at national and sub- national levels Good working knowledge in English, Hindi and Microsoft Office software Experience of working with Central or State Government s or international agencies will be preferred Field experience / practical knowledge in the sectors of Climate Change Adaptation, Ecosystem Based Adaptation, Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Hindi is essential
