Job Summary:

The project will establish a system for AI enabled X-ray with the support of NTEP and NHM officials at state and district levels in Odisha. This intervention will be carried out in active case finding mode by decentralized deployment of ultra-portable digital X-ray machines with AI for screening of TB. The field-coordinators recruited under the project, in addition to existing team of Tribal TB Initiative (PSMRI), will first map and then get involved with a network of Informal Health Providers (IHP) in selected geography to ensure early testing by prompt referral of presumptive TB cases to the nearest testing facility, cutting down the delay in diagnosis and missing TB cases. Once diagnosis is confirmed, the NTEP can initiate treatment promptly. However, if the person with presumptive TB comes negative on sputum examination, but continue to have symptoms suggestive of TB, will be referred by IHP to undergo screening with X-ray AI on a designated day at the assembly point or nearest Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM). 

This role will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Develop weekly micro-plans and route plans for the visiting the hotspots, jointly with the Program Manager, District Program Officer and District Program Coordinator to cover hard-to-reach tribal areas.
  • Coordinate with the health workers and plan community level activities.
  • Visit tribal villages/ habitations and conduct meetings with community influencers.
  •  Ensure all community level activities are conducted as per SOPs, quality protocols and project guidelines .
  •  Conduct IEC activities related to TB at villages and all available platforms.
  • Coordinate with District Program Officer for the availability of Consumables for sample collection and transport.
  • Mobilize community with support of community influencers for sample collection and transport same day to the testing facility.
  • Ensure the quality of sputum sample collected.
  • Perform sample labeling, fill collection forms as per the protocols.
  • Support in maintenance of the hand-held x-ray machines.
  •  Maintain all the records in the reporting formats.
  • Provide regular updates to the reporting manager.
  •  Sample collection and transportation to TU and ensure 100% sample tested by lab technician.
  •  Cover all allocated geography under given timeline.
  •  To ensure data privacy policy.
  • Any other task assigned based on operational need

Desirable Qualification & Skills

  • Graduate in public health, social sciences, social work or related field.
  • Must be a resident of the District applied for (tribal individuals, women candidates, TB survivors are encouraged to apply)
  • Must be able to converse in local languages
  • Knowledge of the District (applied for) and surrounding terrains
  • Must be willing to travel within the District
  • Strong communication and mobilization skills
  • Ability to work with mobile based apps
  • Ability to deliver high-quality outputs in limited time

Experience

  • 1 year of work experience in the health sector or directly with the community in similar role (Preferred)
  • Freshers may also apply

Additional Preference:

  • Understanding of District Health administration.
  • Team Management and logistics.
  • Own two-wheeler with valid driving license
