Designation: Field Manager - Agroforestry & Watershed

Position: 1

Location: Pune, Maharashtra

Salary: INR 6.30 LPA – 7.80 LPA

Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Field Manager to join our team in Pune. As a Field Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and implementing our agroforestry and watershed management programs in rural communities. Through your leadership and expertise, you will contribute to the sustainable development of rural landscapes and improve the livelihoods of local communities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement project plans for agroforestry and watershed management initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
• Conduct field visits to assess community needs, identify potential project sites, and engage with local stakeholders to foster collaboration and participation.
• Mobilize and build the capacity of local communities on agroforestry and watershed management practices through training workshops, demonstrations, and community outreach activities.
• Oversee the establishment and maintenance of agroforestry plantations and watershed structures, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and best practices.
• Establishing strong backward and forward linkages for the agroforestry projects.
• Monitor and evaluate project progress and impact, collect relevant data, and prepare reports to document outcomes and lessons learned.
• Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to facilitate partnerships, coordinate activities, and leverage resources for project implementation.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation, including project proposals, progress reports, and case studies, to communicate project achievements and insights effectively.

Mandatory Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in implementing rural development projects, preferably in agroforestry for watershed management.
• Strong understanding of agroforestry and watershed management principles, with practical experience in project implementation.
• Experience in mobilizing and working with rural communities to promote participatory approaches and community engagement.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English and Marathi languages.
• Ability to travel extensively within the assigned region to project sites and partner locations.

Desired Skills:

• Experience in team management and end-to-end execution of agroforestry and watershed projects.
• Experience of working with government agencies and NGOs to facilitate collaboration and resource mobilization.
• Proficiency in project monitoring and evaluation methodologies to track project progress and assess impact.
• Knowledge of GIS and remote sensing applications would be advantageous.
• Experience in fundraising and donor relations would be an asset.
