About the Organization

Digital India Corporation is a not-for-profit Company set up by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India, under Section 8 of Companies Act 2013. Earlier the company was known as ‘Media Lab Asia’. It has been renamed as ‘Digital India Corporation’ w.e.f. Sep 8, 2017. The Company now leads & guides in realizing the vision, objectives and goals of the Digital India program. It provides strategic support to Ministries / Departments of Centre / States to carry forward the mission of Digital India by way of capacity building for e-governance projects, promoting best practices, encouraging Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), nurturing innovations and technologies in various domains. To ensure autonomy and viability of the organization in the long run, DIC, will also collaborate and mobilise partnerships with the industry, to evolve revenue based models for service delivery.

Job Description

The objective of this role is to drive the development of a robust AI startup ecosystem, supporting the India AI mission by fostering strong relationships with startups, investors, accelerators, and incubators. A key responsibility is leading initiatives around startup financing, including developing strategies and frameworks to support over 1,000 startups in the next five years. The role also involves providing strategic support to government ministries and departments in identifying and scaling AI solutions, while ensuring these solutions align with national priorities. Collaborative engagement with innovation partners and stakeholders is essential, as is regularly updating leadership on progress, ensuring alignment with the broader goals of the India AI mission.

Job Responsibilities

• Ecosystem Building: Build and strengthen associations with the startup ecosystem, including startups, investors, accelerators, and incubators.
• Startup Financing: Lead efforts related to startup financing pillar of India AI Mission, including developing strategies, schemes and framework to support 1000+ startups over 5 years.
• Support Government Entities: Provide strategic support to ministries/departments in identifying and scaling AI solutions, utilizing industry knowledge and best practices aligned with the India AI mission.
• Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with innovation partners/startups to ensure AI solutions meet the needs of the country, fostering collaboration and alignment.
• Brainstorm and Innovate: Collaborate with government officials, technical experts, and industry stakeholders to brainstorm AI solutions that best meet public sector needs.
• Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to India AI leadership and other stakeholders regarding the progress and adoption of AI solutions.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance or a related field from a recognized university or institute.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance or a related field from a recognized university or institute.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• 15+ years of experience with 6+ years ideally working with startups in AI, Machine Learning, or related emerging technologies.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Proven experience in entrepreneurship, startup incubation, venture capital and project management.
• Familiarity with domestic and global AI policy developments.
