About the Organization

NMICPS Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous Navigation Foundation (NM-ICPS TiHAN) is a Section 8 company founded at IIT Hyderabad. Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt of India under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NMICPS), has sanctioned the prestigious Technology Innovation Hub to IIT Hyderabad in the technological vertical of Autonomous Navigation and Data Acquisition System (UAVs, ROVs, etc). We are a wholly funded Technology Innovation Hub in IIT – Hyderabad by Government of India through DST under NM-ICPS which is a Pan India Mission and covers the entire gamut of India that includes Central Ministries, State Governments, Industry and Academia.

NM-ICPS TiHAN Foundation will act as an engine of growth that would benefit national initiatives in health, education, energy, environment, agriculture, strategic cum security, and industrial sectors, Industry 4.0, SMART Cities, Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) etc. NMICPS is an integrated system of upcoming technology, which in turn is being taken up on priority basis and will indeed bring a paradigm shift in entire skill sets requirement.

Job Description

The Head of Business Development will identify new business opportunities and drive growth through strategic partnerships, market expansion, and revenue generation of TiHAN-IITH Centre of Excellence in autonomous navigation and data acquisition systems. 

The Head of Business Development will play a pivotal role in building relationships with stakeholders, industry, academia, government agencies, and investors, and position the TiHAN Centre as a leading hub for cutting-edge technological advancements in autonomous navigation and smart mobility solutions.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 to 10 years of experience in business development, with exposure to technology commercialization and a strong understanding of the technology innovation ecosystem. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and implementing new business opportunities, driving growth through strategic partnerships, market expansion, and revenue generation to expand TiHAN’s customer base, revenue, and market share.
  • Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics
  • Identify and prioritize high-potential markets and sectors for expansion in TiHAN’s technologies, such as autonomous navigation systems and smart mobility.
  • Identify, generate, and convert leads for strategic partnerships and research collaborations. 
  • Build a network of stakeholders of technology companies, government bodies, and investors to promote TiHAN’s test bed, R&D projects, startups, and innovations.
  • Develop proposals, negotiate agreements, and close deals to secure new business opportunities 
  • Create alliances with angel investors, venture capitalists, and other ecosystem players to drive and implement commercialization of technologies.
  • Develop research-based brand positioning strategies to elevate TiHAN’s profile globally and locally and position the TiHAN center as a hub for cutting-edge technological advancements.
  • Enhance TiHAN’s visibility by publishing success stories, launching marketing campaigns, and increasing its digital presence. 
  • Framework for marketing campaigns, seminars, and events to promote TiHAN’s offerings.
  • Carry out market research to stay updated on technological industry advancements, competitors’ activities, and market trends. Provide data-driven insights to guide growth strategies.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in managing strategic business development and planning and sales in the tech industry
  • Experience and understanding of innovation, startup ecosystems, technology, and infrastructure projects, and technology commercialization
  • Proven track record of building business proposals, strategic alliances/partnerships with startups, investors, industry, academia, and government
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed organization, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent working with Excel, PowerPoint, and other productivity tools
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Essential Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably in ECE/CS/ IT
  • Postgraduate degree or diploma in MBA, Management Science, or related field.

Salary

Consolidated salary of Rs. 80,000/- per month.
