Designation: Lead - Regenerative Agriculture Programs

Position: 1

Location: Ahmedabad

Salary: INR 13.20 LPA – 14.40 LPA

Role Overview:

As the Lead - Regenerative Agriculture Programs, you will spearhead the design and implementation of impactful initiatives aimed at advancing sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices throughout India. Working closely with diverse stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in driving BharatCares' mission forward, contributing to positive change in farming communities nationwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic design, development, and implementation of regenerative agriculture programs across various regions in India.
  • Utilize knowledge about animal husbandry and other agricultural practices for holistic program development, ensuring comprehensive and sustainable solutions for farming communities.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify areas with high potential for impact and develop program strategies for sustainable agriculture.
  • Utilize prior experience in promoting farmer collectivization through entities such as Farmer Producer Companies (FPC), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO), Farmer Interest Groups (FIGs), etc., to foster community engagement and empowerment.
  • Collaborate closely with local communities, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness, scalability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Establishing market linkages for agricultural produce to enhance income opportunities for farmers and promote economic resilience.
  • Oversee the execution of program activities, including training workshops, farmer demonstrations, and field visits, ensuring high-quality delivery and measurable impact.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience of government schemes related to agriculture, rural development, and sustainability initiatives to maximize program effectiveness and leverage available resources.
  • Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track program outcomes, collect relevant data, conduct thorough analysis, and produce comprehensive reports. Utilize insights to assess impact, identify areas for improvement, and inform evidence-based decision-making.
  • Proactively seek and secure funding opportunities to support program expansion, innovation, and sustainability. Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and funding agencies to ensure continued support for program activities and initiatives.
  • Provide visionary leadership to a dedicated team of program staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work culture. Mentor and support team members to achieve their full potential and contribute to the overall success of the organization's mission.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments, research, and best practices in regenerative agriculture, disseminating knowledge and promoting awareness among farming communities through advocacy and outreach initiatives. Collaborate with stakeholders to advocate for policy changes and initiatives that support sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices.

Mandatory Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in designing, managing, and implementing agricultural development programs, with a strong focus on sustainable or regenerative agriculture.
  • Deep understanding of regenerative agriculture principles and practices, with proven experience applying them in the Indian context.
  • Demonstrated expertise in research, data analysis, and program evaluation, with a track record of producing high-quality reports and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor team members towards achieving shared goals.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi required; proficiency in local languages of target regions preferred.
