Job Description

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK-based educational charity that works to put the power of computing and digital making into the hands of people all over the world. We want more people to be able to harness the power of computing and digital technologies for work, to solve problems that matter to them, and to express themselves creatively.

Established in 2008 and first known for our product — the wildly successful Raspberry Pi computer — the Foundation has developed educational content and programmes that are helping millions of people learn computing and digital making. In October 2015, we merged with Code Club, followed in May 2017 by a second merger with the CoderDojo Foundation. Together we now represent one of the largest, sustained global efforts to help young people learn computing and digital making.

Our learning content, formal and non-formal, support young people to learn computing and digital making and is accessed both through our network of clubs, schools, teachers, and learners. We are looking for a Learning Manager to join our team to create high-quality learning experiences that are engaging and relevant to young people, teachers and volunteers in India. The ideal candidate will be a creative and enthusiastic curriculum design expert with expertise in developing and delivering learning experiences to support the development of adults and young people's digital-making skills.

You will be reporting to the Sr. Learning Manager, India and work collaboratively to develop Computing and Coding curriculum with clear, achievable learning outcomes to support young learners, teachers and volunteers in India in their journey towards digital making.

You will be expected to use data, community feedback, and rigorous research to ensure our content is appropriate & relevant for young learners, teachers and volunteers from various backgrounds, interests, and abilities in India.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver learning experiences, content, resources, and training for the Foundation's educational programmes and products.
  • Ensure that learning experiences, content, resources, and training reflect evidence-based pedagogy and the Foundation's agreed approaches to teaching and learning across formal education and non-formal learning.
  • Contribute to the development of the Foundation's teaching and learning strategy and approaches. Actively engage with research and best practice, and identify areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions (virtual, in-person & blended) for facilitators and trainers to ensure they are equipped to effectively deliver educational programs and courses.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and external partners.
  • Support in building and managing relations with external knowledge partners e.g. translation and LMS partners
  • Engage positively with the Foundation's systems for quality assurance, including in relation to agreed policies for inclusion and accessibility.
  • Work with the impact team to proactively utilise user feedback and data to drive improvement.
  • Represent the Raspberry Pi Foundation to external audiences and stakeholders as required.
  • Contribute to the Foundation's thought leadership through writing articles and blogs, public speaking, and contributing to research and evaluation.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • A commitment to the mission and values of the Raspberry Pi Foundation
  • A thorough understanding of computing, with a degree or equivalent qualification in computer science or a related subject.
  • Excellent understanding of the Indian education ecosystem, with a particular focus on school-based education, community-based education, and alignment with NEP 2020 guidelines. University-based education will be helpful
  • Experience in designing and developing computing courses, learning resources, and learning experiences, including teacher training, in formal or non-formal education contexts.
  • About 5-8 years of experience in curriculum design and development roles preferably in the field of Computing education. Experience working with state governments or contributing to large-scale curriculum design and implementation is highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, including a high level of written English
  • Proven adaptability to work in varied and resource-variable settings across India. The ideal candidate will possess problem-solving skills to navigate challenges such as limited infrastructure, diverse educational contexts, and varying levels of stakeholder readiness, ensuring successful implementation of programs
  • Strong ability to collaborate with international teams and local stakeholders, bridging cultural differences effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an agile & fast-paced environment
  • Availability to travel for study tours, research & surveys, in-person meetings and training sessions.
