About the Organization
Teach For India is on a journey to reach an India free of poverty and filled with love by ending educational inequity in our country. Fourteen years into our journey we are a movement of 4600+ Alumni working at all levels of the education system, who are reaching 1 in 10 children across the country. These Alumni have graduated from our two-year Fellowship Program where they taught in under-resourced classrooms to put ~38,000 low-income children on a different life path. Today, we have ~940 Fellows and are the largest pipeline of driven, skilled talent into the educational ecosystem in India.
Job Description
The Manager, Network Learning and Collaboration role catalyzes the Alumni movement in a region. You will be responsible for enabling an active, thriving, learning and growing Alumni community that fuels progress towards the collective vision for our region.
Job Responsibilities
As the Manager, Network Learning and Collaboration, you will:
Nurture Alumni Multipliers:
- Source and cultivate select Alumni in the region to be Entrepreneurs, Creators of Communities of Practice (CoP), Chapter Committee Leads & Authors
- Support these multipliers in their journey once they volunteer to take on this role
- Invite Alumni to galvanize around high-leverage problem statements and inspire action within their community and networks, on key barriers faced by children within the region
Convene Alumni towards a shared vision:
- Partner with a critical mass of Alumni Multipliers to realize a shared vision of transformation for key schools and communities in the city
- Activate the wider Alumni community as allies in service of the shared vision of transformation for children and beyond
Know their Alumni:
- To do all of the above, our NLCs will be required to connect and build meaningful relationships with Alumni in and from their region.
- Connect with the graduating cohort of Fellows to build their orientations for the movement
Managing data & impact:
- Maintain an updated Alumni database that tells us where our Alumni are, the roles they play and the health of their community
- Set up systems to track and report Alumni engagement data across projects and periodically share these with national teams
- Liaise with the Regional Communications Lead to plan creative campaigns, newsletters, podcasts, reports, websites etc. that spread stories of individual and collective impact within and beyond the local Alumni community
Additional responsibilities:
- Contribute plans, tools, project resources and more, to support peers leading similar efforts across other cities
- Feed insights from the work of Alumni community building back into our Core Program
- Based on need, interest and capabilities:
- Support other organizational priorities like Fellowship Recruitment, Selection, Matriculation, Summer Institute etc.
- Support select city or national projects that are seasonal
As a Manager at Teach For India
- Contributing to the team goals and priorities beyond individual goals and priorities
- Serving as an ambassador of the Teach For India brand and an advocate for our work and for educational equity in our country through both internal and external communication after commiting time in our classrooms to understand our work more deeply
- Supporting with key organizational areas such as Recruitment, Selection, Fundraising, Volunteering, Movement Building
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- 2-5 years of professional experience
- Experience in driving operations in high-pressure, goal-driven environments
- Experience of having collaborated effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups
- Experiences and examples of having taken initiative in the past
- Previous experience in teaching/education would be an added advantage (not mandatory)
