About the Project:

This large-scale river basin conservation project in Maharashtra is spearheaded by CSRBOX, a leading corporate social responsibility (CSR) Practice organization in India. The project aims to drive a collaborative platform and program to address the critical challenges of river basin health and promote sustainable water management practices.

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Communications and Advocacy Manager to join our team working on a vital river basin conservation project in Maharashtra. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in raising awareness, building public support, and advocating for policies that promote the sustainable management of our rivers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications and advocacy strategy to achieve project goals.
• Create compelling content, including press releases, social media posts, website copy, and other materials, to raise awareness about the project and its importance.
• Manage media relations, building relationships with journalists and securing positive media coverage.
• Organize and participate in outreach events, public meetings, and conferences to engage stakeholders and garner support.
• Develop and deliver presentations and workshops to educate the public and policymakers about the importance of river conservation.
• Advocate for policies that support the sustainable management of rivers, working with government officials, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications and advocacy efforts, making adjustments as needed.
• Stay up-to-date on current issues and trends related to river conservation and water management.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in communications, public relations, environmental science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in communications and advocacy, preferably in the environmental sector.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective communications and advocacy strategies.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
• Ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working with media is a plus.
• Knowledge of the Indian environmental and policy landscape is a plus.
• Passion for river conservation and a commitment to environmental sustainability.
