About the Organization

Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), is an umbrella organisation at IIT Bombay for fostering entrepreneurship and nurturing tech start-ups. It administers a business incubator which provides ‘Start to scale’ support for technology based entrepreneurship and facilitates the conversion of research activity into entrepreneurial ventures.

Job Description

Responsible for overseeing and effectively administering incubation aimed at fostering the development and growth of startups.

Job Responsibilities

Incubation:

• Screen the incoming applications and conduct internal reviews, identifying suitable reviewers.
• Plan and coordinate external reviews as necessary, engaging in discussions with shortlisted startups.
• Facilitate introductions to the portfolio team for validation and support startups through the agreement finalization process.

Database Management:

• Maintain a comprehensive database of startups, advisors, and industry experts.
• To guide the team and ensure complete documentation of incubation process.
• Regularly update and utilize the database for program management and reporting purposes.

Progress Monitoring and Reporting:

• To oversee the periodic progress reviews of startups/ grantees on quarterly basis.

Facilitating Connections and Support:

• Facilitate connections with IITB facilities, technical/business experts, and external stakeholders such as investors and corporates.
• Provide ongoing support to startups throughout their incubation journey.

IITB Research & Innovation Support:

• Monitor and track research and innovation activities within the institute.
• Align these activities with available grant opportunities, incubation and provide guidance to fundable R&I projects.

Engagement with Students & Alumni:

• Foster engagement with the Entrepreneurship Cell and support studentled entrepreneurship initiatives.
• Provide guidance and support to fundable projects initiated by students and alumni.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• B.E. Computer/Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related fields
• Minimum 810 years’ experience with at least 4 years in startup ecosystem/incubation
• Good understanding of technology & innovation
• Fair understanding of emerging technologies.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel) and database systems
