Position Overview:

The Manager - Agritech and Agri Value Chain will play a critical role in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing projects that focus on technology deployment and value chain enhancement for farmers, FPOs, FPCs, and cooperatives across Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, and other key states. The role involves identifying suitable agritech solutions, improving market linkages, strengthening post-harvest and food processing value chains, and aligning with government policies and schemes to maximize impact.

The Role and Responsibilities:

Technology Deployment and Adoption in Agriculture

• Identify and assess emerging agritech solutions (AI, IoT, remote sensing, precision farming, digital platforms, etc.) for smallholder farmers, FPOs, and cooperatives.
• Develop models for large-scale adoption of agritech interventions in agriculture and allied sectors (horticulture, dairy, fisheries, etc.).
• Facilitate pilots and scaling of innovative agritech solutions in collaboration with private players, startups, and research institutions.
• Build partnerships with agritech startups, digital agri-platforms, and supply chain enablers for efficient technology adoption.

Enhancing the Agri Value Chain & Food Processing

• Map existing gaps in key value chains (fruits, vegetables, pulses, cereals, dairy, spices, etc.) and identify critical interventions.
• Strengthen post-harvest infrastructure, value addition, and food processing units for higher farmer incomes.
• Work closely with agribusinesses, supply chain stakeholders, and processing units to improve efficiency and sustainability.
• Facilitate market linkages and direct farmer-to-market strategies to enhance profitability.

Engagement with Government Schemes & Policies

• Align project interventions with relevant government schemes such as PM Kisan, PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM-FME), Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), and state-specific FPO promotion programs.
• Leverage government support and subsidies for scaling up agritech and value chain interventions.
• Build working relationships with key government departments, agencies, NABARD, SFAC, and Agri Universities to enhance impact.

Private Sector & CSR Engagement

• Identify opportunities for CSR funding to support agritech adoption and value chain improvements.
• Engage with corporate partners, agribusiness firms, and foundations to co-create high-impact programs.
• Develop proposals and business models for sustained private-sector involvement in agritech-driven rural development.

Capacity Building & Knowledge Sharing

• Develop training modules and capacity-building programs for FPOs, FPCs, and cooperative leaders on agritech adoption and market strategies.
• Organize stakeholder workshops, policy dialogues, and cross-learning visits to share best practices.
• Prepare knowledge products, case studies, and impact reports to document interventions and lessons learned.

Qualification and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of experience (7 years preferred) in agritech deployment, agri value chains, or FPO strengthening, with hands-on experience in large-scale implementation.
• Strong understanding of agri-tech innovations, digital agriculture solutions, and post-harvest value chains.
• Experience in working with government policies, schemes, and partnerships in the agriculture sector.
• Prior experience in engaging with CSR projects, corporates, and development agencies is an advantage.
