Job Description
As the Manager - Communications for the Chief Minister’s Youth Centre Project, you will play a key role in coordinating and managing all aspects of the project's communications. Working closely with the Communications Lead at SMF, you will develop strategies and plans to effectively communicate the project's goals and impact. You will collaborate with the SMF Production Team to ensure the timely production of all audio-visual materials while overseeing the project's subpages and maintaining a consistent brand image. While the production team handles visual design and video production, you will be responsible for copywriting, including social media content and YouTube scripts. Additionally, you will ensure timely coverage of project stories across relevant media platforms to maximise visibility and engagement.
Job Responsibilities
Management & Strategy
- ○ Set up Yearly Strategies following up with the project Vision/ Goals
- ○ Content Planning and Execution- Social media/ Blog/ Newsletter/ Media coverage
- ○ Ensure timely and effective internal communication within the teams and its project partners
- Media relations
- Database management (for communications purpose)
- Project documents
- Content Calendar & archives
- Media Archive
- Media Contacts
- Capacity Building - Internal Team & Partners
- Monitoring Sub-pages
- Assists sub-pages in content planning and design
Content
- Coordinate with the content production team to ensure timely production and publishing of content as per content calendars
- Provide all necessary information/ data / raw materials to the production team in stipulated time.
- Write copies for all social media/ website and media publishing
- Content Edit and Design overview for Donor Reports/ Annual reports and related documents
- Keep up to date with content trends/ focussed thematic area
Events
- Planning of content/ campaigns related to any and all events for the project Ensure timely event related communication for all internal and external purpose
Collaborations
- Set Brand Guidelines for new partners
- Collaborate with new and existing partners for campaigns
- Meet Requirements for partners and donors
- Case Story/ Media requests
- Reports
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
- Minimum of 6 - 8 years of experience in communications, content management, strategy development, or media relations, preferably with non-profits or social impact organisations.
- Ability to set up yearly strategies aligned with project goals and vision.
- Strong project management and organisational skills to manage communication databases, content calendars, archives, and media contacts.
- Ability to coordinate with content production teams to ensure timely production and publishing and assist sub-pages in content planning and design.
- Experience in planning and executing campaigns, events, and managing event-related communications, including press releases, media kits, and guest management.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including setting brand guidelines and aligning with new partners.
- Experience in copywriting for social media, website, media publishing, donor reports, and annual reports.
- Knowledge of content trends and thematic areas relevant to the organisation’s focus.
