About the Organization

The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), an autonomous organisation under the Union Ministry of Rural Development, is a premier national centre of excellence in rural development and Panchayati Raj. Recognized internationally as one of the UN-ESCAP Centres of Excellence, it builds capacities of rural development functionaries, elected representatives of PRIs, bankers, NGOs and other stakeholders through inter-related activities of training, research and consultancy. The Institute is located in the historic city of Hyderabad in Telangana state. The NIRD&PR celebrated its Golden Jubilee Year of establishment in 2008. In addition to the main campus at Hyderabad, this Institute has North-Eastern Regional Centre at Guwahati, Assam to meet the NE-regional needs.

Job Responsibilities

• NRPs shall support SRLMs in implementing mission activities as per annual action plans.
• NRPs shall provide training and capacity building to state, district, and block-level mission unit functionaries and community cadres.
• NRP shall develop session plans, training modules, technical bulletins, the package of practices, and resource material on the intervention of DAY – NRLM
• NRPs shall support SRLMs for need assessment, scoping studies, proposal development, DPR preparation, appraisal of proposals, evaluation, and impact assessment apart from capacity-building activities.
• NRP shall travel to remote areas for support mission activities.
• Any other assignment requested by NRLM- RC/NMMU

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Candidate should be a Post-Graduate in Sericulture / Agriculture / Horticulture / Forestry / Forestry Management / Environmental Management / Sustainability Management / Agribusiness Management/ Rural Management / Rural Marketing

                   (Or)

• Any Graduate with two years PG Diploma in Forest Management
• Post completion of essential educational qualification, a minimum of 3 years of experience related to Non-Timber and Minor Forest Produce (NTFP/MFP) technical, value addition, and marketing aspects

Desirable Criteria:

• Candidate should have deep knowledge, understanding, intensive experience, and expertise in production, harvesting, post-production, and marketing of silk, lac, Resins, gums, latex, Mahua, Tamarind, Char seeds, Amla, Harida, Baheda, and other minor forest produce
• Candidate should have excellent documentation and communication skills in English/ Hindi or any one Scheduled (Regional) language
