Job Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with technical and state teams to map partnership opportunities for private sector engagement, public-private partnership, and the public sector for piloting innovative models for strengthening FP/RH services and access.
  • Provide technical inputs and support in identification, design and implementation of strategic private sector partnerships aimed at improving FP/RH to contribute to the achievement of the goals of the project.
  • Ensure that partnership activities are coordinated effectively and are well-integrated within the overall project workplan.
  • Assess and advise on financial risks in implementing private sector engagement models and identify necessary mitigating and corrective actions.
  • Lead engagement strategy and implementation collaboration between YAARI and complementary FP/RH initiatives in project areas as well as nationally.
  • Support in mapping of partners, philanthropic organisations, donors, HNIs, CSRs, foundations to bring them onboard for Venture Initiatives for Blended Finance and Entrepreneurial Support (VIBES) platform.
  • Liaise with donors, partners, host government agencies, and other key stakeholders to share progress, accomplishments, and challenges to ensure optimal leveraging of other investments and avoid duplication of efforts.
  • Identify capacity building needs among team members around private sector engagement and build their capacity to engage effectively with external private sector partners and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with the terms of the award terms and conditions; and develop a deep understanding of how USAID defines leverage, how to record and report it.
  • Work with finance and project staff to track and report leverage.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Master’s / Bachelor’s degree business administration/ economics/ business/ in public health/ health management or related field or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience working on private sector engagement and management, partnership development (both private and public), particularly in health.
  • Over 2 years of progressive management experience on donor-funded projects of similar size and scope.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a senior management position for USAID-funded or other donor-funded projects.
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of the Indian healthcare system, particularly the public health system; private health sector landscape and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
  • Experience interacting with Government of India agencies, including central and local government, development partners, private sector, civil society, and community-based organizations is essential.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office365 applications.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
