About the Organization

Established in 1976, the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) is a premier institute of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, for research and capacity building for the urban sector in India. For more than 40 years now, NIUA has been the vanguard for contributing to and building the urban narrative for a fast-evolving urban India. The Institute has been actively working on bringing forth key areas of concern for urban India in order to build the urban discourse at various urban scales. Job Description

UI/UX Designer Responsibilities:

• Create intuitive, visually appealing, and user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile applications.
• Design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using Figma and other design tools.
• Develop engaging graphics, layouts, and icons aligned with the brand identity using Adobe Photoshop and Canva.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to identify design improvements.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
• Maintain design systems and style guides for consistency across projects.

Data Analytics Responsibilities:

• Collect, analyze, and interpret datasets to provide actionable insights.
• Create interactive dashboards and data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.
• Conduct trend analysis and generate reports to support business strategies.
• Collaborate with teams to identify key metrics and design data-driven solutions.
• Perform data cleansing, processing, and validation for accuracy.
• Present findings and recommendations in clear, visually appealing formats.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelors in Computer Science/IT or any related field.
• 0-2 years of professional experience as a UI/UX Designer.
• Portfolio showcasing previous design projects (web, mobile, or both).

Required Skills and Competencies:

UI/UX Design Skills:

• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and Adobe Illustrator.
• Understanding of user-centered design principles and usability standards.
• Experience with wireframing, prototyping, and design systems.
• Knowledge of responsive design and basic front-end development (HTML/CSS is a plus).

Data Analytics Skills:

• Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.
• Familiarity with data querying languages like SQL (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of programming languages like Python or R (good to have).
• Strong data visualization and storytelling skills.
