About the Project:

The Rural Creche Initiative project in Ekjut supports creches or day care centers in rural areas of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. These creches or day care centers open 6 days a week for children in the 6–36 months age group where they stay for 7-8 hours a day. In the creche, children get 1 cooked meal and 2 cooked snacks with 1boiled egg daily, age-appropriate early childhood development activities, they are in a safe secured and hygienic environment managed by 2 trained creche workers from the same village. Currently, Ekjut manages more than 300 creches under this initiative in the 3 states.

Program Manager – Creches

Base Location: Jashpur District of Chhattisgarh

Area of Work: Chhattisgarh

Reports to: Team Lead

Supports and Supervises: Training Coordinator, Cluster Coordinators, Capacity Building Officers, Safety & Security Officer

Key Responsibilities:

• To oversee the overall implementation of the projects.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans of the project.
• Oversee, manage, and implement rural crèche policies and procedures.
• Ensure child safety, protection, and compliance standards across all crèches and project teams.
• Facilitate capacity building of the project staff.
• Monitor the performance of project team members and take appropriate measures for improving the performance of project staff.
• Undertake field visits to guide and support the team.

To coordinate with key stakeholders for necessary support.

• Coordinate with donors for necessary compliances.
• To organise monthly, quarterly, and annual programme reviews.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports with support from the M&E Manager and ensure their timely submission.
• Work in tandem with the Accounts and Logistics Manager to ensure transparency in utilisation of funds, generation of UCs, and tracking of fund utilisation under different budget heads.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Postgraduate in Social Work, Rural Management, Child Development, Public Health, Management or related field.
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in program management, preferably in child development, health, nutrition or community-based initiatives.
• Strong leadership, people management, and supportive supervision skills.
• Experience in working in district/ blocks inhabited by tribes.
• Experience of managing projects independently in a similar position.
• Good communication skill, especially in Hindi/English.

• Willing to travel extensively. This work involves field travel of 2-3 weeks per month.

Remuneration: CTC 5-7 Lakhs per annum (CTC includes EPF, Gratuity, Taxes)
