About the Organization

Launched in 2017, the School Initiative for Mental Health Advocacy (SIMHA) is an advocacy, research and capacity-building field action project of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. SIMHA supports schools through knowledge sharing, training of school leaders, teachers and counsellors and promotes the well-being and mental health of children and adolescents.

Job Description/Responsibilities

This is a high-impact role to lead the design and implementation of Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN) interventions at CSF including instructional resources design, project execution, stakeholder management and field implementation. Key responsibilities include:

Instructional Resource Design

  • Develop structured pedagogy resources (learning outcome frameworks, lesson plans, worksheets, textbooks, & assessments)
  • Ensure engaging, pedagogically sound content aligned with NIPUN Bharat, NCERT/SCERT frameworks, global best practices
  • Test and iterate prototypes in school with teachers and mentors

Project Execution & Stakeholder Management

  • Own projects end-to-end from planning, tracking t execution
  • Manage internal teams, allocate resources, and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Communicate proactively with with internal and external stakeholders

Field Implementation & Teacher Support

  • Lead on-the-ground execution, ensuring effective use of instructional materials in classrooms.
  • Analyse student assessment and classroom observation data design support solutions (coaching, micro-training, instructional explainers, remedial programs).
  • Strengthen CSF field teams through training, joint school visits, and coaching.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Have completed a Master’s degree in Psychology or Social Work (Mental Health) with a minimum 1 year experience
  • Possess good writing and communication skills in English
  • Have proficiency in the use of computers for the purpose of documentation, data analysis and use of virtual platforms for training

 Preference will be given to candidates with the following experience:

  • Experience in working with schools/colleges/adolescent mental health initiatives
  • Experience with research or field action projects
  • Good academic writing skills in English

Salary

Rs.45,000/- per month
