About the Organization
KHPT is a not-for-profit charitable entity that spearheads focused initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of communities in India. In 2003, KHPT was founded with a mission to enhance the health and wellbeing of vulnerable communities and our journey started with the focus on reducing the prevalence of HIV in Karnataka, specifically among most at-risk populations. These interventions were evidence-driven, systematically planned, rigorously implemented, and monitored. We succeeded in scaling impact well beyond Karnataka and KHPT became a learning site for innovative approaches. We work primarily in the fields of Maternal, Neonatal & Child Health (MNCH), Tuberculosis (TB), Adolescent Health (AH), and Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC).
Job Description/Responsibilities
- Is responsible for planning, implementation and monitoring the project at taluka level
- To ensure capacity building of Kunigal taluk Frontline Health Workers(FLWs) on ECCD
- Hand holding and mentoring support to Community Facilitators.
- Build rapport and advocacy at the taluk /district level with the officials of Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW), Women and Child Development, Rural development and Panchayath Raj (RDPR), and other concerned departments.
- Conduct monthly review meeting with Community Facilitator and update the progress
- Support in planning and implementation of all planned project activities
- To participate and contribute in the review meetings of the project.
- Participate in taluka level meetings and reviews to update on the project.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Postgraduate/graduate in Social Work/Social Science /other relevant degree /minimum 2-3 years of experience of implementing health related programs at the block level.
- Working experience in the region (south Karnataka) is desired.
- Fluency in written and spoken Kannada is a must and Knowledge of English language is desired.
- Knowledge and experience of working in Government systems.
- Good communication, leadership and facilitation skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively in field areas of Urban PHC in Bengaluru
- Prior experience of working in a Reproductive Maternal Neonatal Child Health (RMNCH) or Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) related project is an added advantage.
- Expertise in using MS office and web-based information systems.
