The team specializes in designing and delivering interventions on maternal and child health, adolescent health, reproductive health, family planning, communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, and nutrition. Interventions are designed to keep equity and gender at the heart of the planning process. The delivery of these interventions is done through government health systems as well as through public-private partnerships.

Job Description

MAMTA-Health Institute for Mother and Child (MAMTA) propose to scaling up Road safety project in Lucknow Uttar Pradesh. Road safety in India continues to be a major public health issue especially in the young population. Young adolescents often acquire road crossing skills in the quieter environments around primary schools and they may be therefore, less prepared for dealing with the busier roads that may surround secondary schools. One of the best ways to do it is to include road safety issues and training in schools educating the children to create awareness. Keeping this in mind, a programme is being designed for children studying in standard VI to VIII and implementing in government upper primary schools of Lucknow urban and semi urban areas.

Job Responsibilities

• PC will work under the guidance of State and National team of Mamta working in this project
• Project Coordinator (PC) is overall responsible for management of project activities in schools (Lucknow Urban).
• The PC will coordinate with the district level officials for roll-out of the project activities in the schools and ensure the quality of the activities.
• PC will be responsible to share the monthly progress report and other reports on prescribed formats
• PC will help in integrating convergence mechanism; trainings; capacity building of the staff and the teachers at the intervention schools.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Post Graduate degree in Social Work, Social Science from recognised institution.

Essentials:

•  Good communication and writing skill
• Strong advocacy and networking ability
• Understanding on road safety issues and related programmes
• Experience on working with adolescents and in education sector-with schools, will be given priority
• Working experience on developing documents on the project while using documentation software such as Canva will be valuable
