Introduction
We solve the waste management crisis of the Indian Himalayan Region. Our work lies at the intersection of Climate Change, Biodiversity Habitat Conservation, and Informal livelihoods. With a team of 200+ Warriors spread across various locations nestled in the beautiful landscapes of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, we strive to create effective waste management solutions across urban and rural landscapes, with a special focus on eco-sensitive and tourist areas.
Position Brief:
If you dream of setting up decentralized waste management systems in rural areas of the Indian Himalayan Region, we’re looking for you! If you are someone who puts the team ahead of you to share credit for wins, and who stands in the front during difficult times, we’re looking for you! If you believe you are a leader, irrespective of titles, we’re looking for you! 
We seek an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee our rural waste management project in Shimla, aimed at creating awareness, optimizing waste collection and processing, setting up infrastructure, and promoting local entrepreneurship by working with Gram Panchayats and the local community. This role requires a blend of project management skills, technical knowledge of waste management systems, and a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
Roles and Responsibilities 
1. Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
2. Oversee the execution of project activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
3. Create a safe space and inspire the teams by providing clear direction and support.
4. Relentless focus on sustainability & model building 
5. Develop tools and systems to accurately record on-ground activities and their impact
6. Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
7. Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports and present them to the project stakeholders and partners.
8. Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
9. Prepare and submit financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
10. Should also be open to travel including to remote, hilly terrains. 
11. Engage with multiple stakeholders from panchayat level to the state level to establish convergence and government ownership. 
A Successful Candidate Should Have: 
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field
2. High levels of physical and mental resilience 
3. 5+ years of experience in project management, with a preference for waste management, environmental services, or sustainability-focused roles.
4. Strong knowledge of waste management practices, regulatory requirements, and sustainability trends.
5. Passion to work for environmental and climate change
6. Good Communication skills in English and Hindi
7. Skills to identify and mitigate risks associated with working in mountainous terrain.
8. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions 
9. Willing to work in high-altitude, rugged, and remote mountain terrain.
10. Ability to analyze complex issues and make data-driven decisions.
