SAKSHAM, a National Award-winning NGO and twice honored with the President’s award for its exemplary work and contribution in the field of disabilities. It is a Not-for-profit Trust established in 2003, primarily working for 22 years in the education, rehabilitation and welfare for persons with visual impairments. The sole aim of the trust is to empower persons belonging to this marginalized section of the society through assistive technology solutions and training for education.SAKSHAM is establishing a 20 bedded residential ‘Education, Rehabilitation, and Resource Centre’ at Rohru tehsil in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh which aims to educate and empower children with visual impairments by providing tailored educational resources, assistive technology solutions and rehabilitation support to help them integrate in mainstream schools and excel academically and socially.Position Summary: We are urgently seeking a Residential Project Coordinator to lead and manage the operations of SAKSHAM’s Education, Rehabilitation, and Resource Centre. The role involves ensuring the provision of high-quality education, rehabilitation services, and resources for students with visual impairments, preparing them for successful reintegration into mainstream schools.

Key Responsibilities1. Oversee and coordinate the activities of the Centre to ensure smooth operations.2. Design and implement programs for the education and rehabilitation of children with visual impairments.3. Train and supervise staff to use assistive technologies and educational tools for visually impaired children.4. Liaise with stakeholders, including blind and inclusive schools, government departments, and NGOs, to foster collaboration and support.5. Monitor and evaluate the project's progress and impact, preparing periodic reports.6. Ensure adherence to budgets and timelines set for the project.

Stationed at: ‘SAKSHAM Education, Rehabilitation and Resource Centre’, Rohru, Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh

Eligibility Criteria• Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation Science, or a related field.• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing education or rehabilitation projects, preferably related to visual impairments.Skills and Competencies:• Excellent project management and organizational skills.• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Proficiency in MS Office and relevant software applications.• Commitment to SAKSHAM's mission and values.

Languages known: Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi. Working knowledge of Hindi is desirable.

Duration and Compensation

• Contract Period: Initially for 12 months, renewable based on performance and project requirements.

• Compensation: Competitive and based on qualifications and experience.
