Job Description
The Senior Analyst, reporting directly to the Senior Program Manager, would be a pivotal part of the emerging work within CPI related to urban green transition, including urban resilience, climate change-induced disaster risk management and green building materials. This position combines an understanding of climate resilience especially in the urban context, ability to conduct deep research and an eagerness for finding climate solutions through finance. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Job Responsibilities
- Anchoring the urban resilience and disaster risk management work at CPI’s India office; helping identify new concepts and areas of intervention in these areas and building strategies for their development
- Conducting research and collating primary or secondary data, as necessary, from relevant sources
- Engaging in dialogue with relevant stakeholders like urban local bodies, municipal authorities and parastatal institutions, and managing stakeholder relationships
- Developing knowledge collaterals like policy papers, reports and blogs, and other outputs like proposals and presentations for funders and other stakeholders
- Developing new concept notes in the fields of resilience and disaster risk for funders
- Organising external stakeholder forums for finding financing solutions in urban heat resilience/ disaster resilience/ green buildings; engaging seamlessly with colleagues in urban programs in other offices of CPI
- Reporting on program deliverables as stipulated in grant agreements in a timely manner and adhering to quality standards
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
The candidate should have a commitment to CPI’s mission and values and a passion for addressing climate change related policy and finance issues. Besides, s/he should have the following credentials.
- A Post-Graduate in Planning/ Urban Planning and Development/ Urban Policy/ Disaster Risk and Resilience/ Sustainable Development or an equivalent Social Sciences qualification relevant to the aforesaid areas. A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture would be preferable.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in urban sector with focus on resilience/ disaster management with extensive work in research, policy, project design and development, project costing and financing, monitoring and evaluation, etc.
