About the Organization

Pratham was founded in 1995, to provide pre-school education to children in Mumbai slums. Over the last 27 years, Pratham has grown to be one of the largest non-profit organizations working to provide quality education to children and youth in over 20 states and union territories across the country, through a range of interventions.

Job Description

We are looking to hire an Associate for Early Years who will contribute to and oversee, when expected, development and delivery of curriculum and content as well as trainings, workshops and courses for internal teams, teachers, Anganwadi workers and officials.

Job Responsibilities

Curriculum and content development, training and delivery

• Collaborate with relevant internal teams and external experts to develop inclusive and accessible educational materials and pedagogy methods for young children (3-9-year-olds), addressing diverse learning preferences of children.
• Practice materials and methods by self, and subsequently support training and mentoring of internal teams, teachers and Anganwadi workers for uptake of these materials and methods.
• Engage with relevant government stakeholders to plan and implement instructional activities, events and trainings across geographies.

Professional Development and Support

• Plan, develop, and deliver training programs, workshops, and professional development courses for diverse stakeholders (teachers, Anganwadi Centers, Schools, government officials, etc.).
• Provide hands-on support to teachers, Anganwadi workers and other functionaries in creating inclusive learning environments.

Communications and Advocacy

• Support documentation of early years’ programs for internal & external stakeholders.
• Participate in conferences, workshops, and public events and support with communication efforts to improve visibility and approach of Pratham’s inclusive early years’ programs.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

Skills:

• Conduct learning activities and games with children.
• Collaboratively design inclusive curriculum for children.
• Train and mentor teams, teachers and officials.
• Cogently explain the principles and approach necessary for inclusive education and assessment.
• Learn and adapt to change.
• Critically assess plans and implementation with a commitment to outcomes.
• Work collaboratively and independently, with a strong commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
• Support and foster a trustful and respectful work environment.

Knowledge:

• Children’s development milestones and journey.
• Curriculum design principles, educational theories and philosophies. 
• Inclusive education, Universal Design for Learning as well as exposure to education of children with disabilities.
• National ECCE policies, curriculum frameworks and assessment practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Preferably Master’s in relevant fields (ECCE, Education or social sciences) with a minimum experience of 4 to 6 years in a relevant profile.
• Willingness to travel, often to remote locations.
