Project Summary-

The Senior Program Leader will be directly reporting to the District Lead (PM), West Singhbhum district,Jharkhand. The role is divided into achieving day-to-day and periodic deliverables of the below mentioned tasks

Key Responsibilities-

Program Development: - Assess, design, align & drive the program to achieve specific outcomes as per Donor requirement-

  • Collect BL data to design intervention as per district dynamics and align with organizational KPIs.
  • Drive intervention to the last mile with periodic analysis of ML data and time to time sharing with internal & external SHs with focus on routing thru PRI system. Identify best practices and replicate to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Develop and Collaborate with different channels like SHGs,Volunteers & Local Youths,Faith Leaders, Hyper Local NGOs, Local Media to build a larger platform to deliver outcomes
  • Planning Designing and Facilitating Capability Building Workshop for Program Leader, Fellows, and Government Stakeholders including PRI members.

People Development: - Train stakeholders at district, block and panchayat level. Develop team members of different channels aligning with the program.

  • Managing the performance of Gandhi Fellows & Karuna Fellows in program and initiative outcomes through periodic reviews. Handholding other team members to drive specific outcomes collectively.
  • Plan, organize and conduct training and workshops; Develop procedures for SHs at block & panchayat level to implement program
  • Develop and institutionalize a safe environment (physically & emotionally) for all SHs including the beneficiary i.e. the Adolescent Girl Child.
  • Collaboration with CoE by providing relevant Insights and context of the district for Product Development
  • Establishing Networks for building ADC with 6 collaborative channels in the district and capacitating their team members for facilitating Program Outcomes.

Stakeholder Management: - Collaboration for programmatic development - internal and external stakeholders / organizations

  • Collaborate with other CoE teams for need identification, co-creation of products, implementation, facilitation support etc.
  • Facilitate discussions and meetings with district & block level officials on understanding the need and co-implementation of the program. Establishing trustworthy relationships with all District Officials and supporting in formation of Convergence Coalition at the district.
  • Establishing and Executing communication channel with District Collector and Departmental Heads of Line Departments for periodic updates, seeking support, developing broader alignment.
  • Develop working relationships with other organization working for similar goals in the district and build collaboration.

Desirable Qualification & Experience

  • Graduate/Post Graduate preferably in Rural Management/ Social Work/ Development Studies/Education/ Social Sciences (Anyone with relevant knowledge and experience is highly encouraged to apply irrespective of his/her educational background)
  • 5-8 years’ experience in working with government in Health, WCD, Skill or related development sector
  • expertise in managing dynamic teams of young people in the age-group of 18 -25 years
  • Good Written and Oral communication in Hindi and English is a must.
  • Proficiency in native language will be an added benefit

Skills And Knowledge

  • Experience of managing donor program, new project/product implementation within the organization as well as with external clients/stakeholders
  • Proven track record of managing and building high performing teams
  • Expertise in identifying and analysing the training need of a group, and facilitating learning
  • Affinity to working with cross-functional groups, while balancing project and organizational priorities
  • Capability to build and manage networks with organizations working in the health, education, sector or officials of similar cadre as well as with Panchayat or Block level or officials of similar cadre in a District as well as Local NGO’s & Volunteers.
  • Readiness to learn, un-learn and re-learn. Comfort with working on solving highly complex problems. Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong ability and intent to learn while driving transformational change.
  • Ability to build a friend and advisor type relationship with IAS officers/District Collectors and other Government Officer’s in the district.
  • Hands on experience on People & Stakeholder management.
  • Strong on analytics and data

Essential Skills

  • Comfortable staying & working in Aspirational District with team while planning one's own workload throughout the day and supporting teams workload.
  • Ensuring a balance between delivery of engagement activity and management of Fellows according to their desired Aspirational Paths.
  • Demonstrable experience in Government Partnerships and Stakeholder Management. Good network with Government Agencies and NGOs, for building a strong alignment base.
  • Experience in managing donor programs with the partner organizations, strong operational experience especially in Health, WCD & Skill domain and organizing Capacity Building workshops.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, such as Proposal writing, documentationetc. Familiarity with Teams, Zoom and other virtual means of Communication platforms.
  • Excellent quantitative, problem solving, analytical and statistical analysis skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel and Presentation skills
