Job Description/Responsibilities

Project Management/Coordination - The Senior Project Officer is accountable for all activities in the assigned portfolio of projects and office-related tasks and must ensure a good working relationship with all relevant stakeholders.

  • Project Development – will support the WBSO in developing plans and strategies as well as project proposals.
  • Project Implementation - will support the WBSO in field implementation of various conservation and education projects and specific activities. Will work closely with the WBSO team for coordination and synergy in activity planning and implementation.
  • Networking & Advocacy – will be involved in developing a network of partners for smooth execution of the works and will have to discuss with senior level officials in both the government and other sectors relevant to the works.
  • Documentation- will be responsible for preparing technical and project reports, internal monthly working reports, quarterly bulletins in a time bound manner.
  • Will be supporting the office in developing resources for networking and collaborating with multiple stakeholders and partners, including government organizations / officials and communities.
  • Will provide support to other works of WWF-India, WBSO team in any area within the State and as necessary from time to time.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 60% marks in M.Sc. in Botany/ Zoology, Wildlife Science, Forestry, Life Science and other biological sciences from a recognized university or academic institute.
  • Candidates with 3 years of experience in the concern field (after obtaining Master’s degree) will be preferable.
  • Strong project management skills and experience (including an ability to effectively manage projects remotely).
  • Experience or an interest in environment and conservation.
  • Excellent  interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for interacting effectively with a variety of people at all organisation levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written analytical skills
