About the Organization

ICAR - Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology - CIRCOT is one of the premier constituent institutes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. Under ICAR organisational set up, CIRCOT comes under Agricultural Engineering Division of ICAR.

Job Description

Optimization of pre- treatment and saccharification of cotton lignocellulosic biomass for efficient xylose release; CRISPR/Cas9 mediated genome editing in Saccliaromyces cerevisiae for enhanced xylitol production; Optimization of conditions for maximum xylitol production using the Saccharomyces cerevisiae and interpretation of results, writing research reports and any other works assigned by PI.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Master’s Degree in  the Molecular biology, Biotechnology. Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline. Note: Candidates having basic sciences with 3 years bachelor’s degree should have NET qualifications and 2 years of research experience as mentioned in OM       no. Edn./6/27/20 I4HRD dated 13th July, 2015 OM No. Agri Edn. 6/2762014 I-IRD 9th October, 2015 of the Council and OM SR/59/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30th Jan, 2019. Or equivalent qualification.
• Desirable: Specialization in genetic engineering, bioinformatic tools, or CRISPR/Cas9 technology
